Kully Ahmed

I didn’t google but I live not far away from this in uk & already knew the story :(

Casefile True Crime

Thank you all for join in. Great chatting as always. Have a good rest of the day/night.

Casefile True Crime

Oh this really interesting to hear these theories.

Laura Carlson

I always enjoy the Casefile AMA’s. Thanks for all your hard work! I can’t wait for next week. 😩 Cheers!

Casefile True Crime

None that are that close in terms of distance. But they still hit all the same. Especially the unsolved ones like Tynong.

kellie

i can hear something in your speech too, you put an A on the end of "and" sometimes so you often say "Anda" which kind of has the slightest hint of maybe a European influence?

Jake Walker

Are there any of the Australian cases that hit really close to home for you? I live about 5 drive minutes from the Tynong North killers dumping ground and grew up around the areas that victims were taken. Was quite a surreal feeling to know exactly where you were describing as the episode went on.

Casefile True Crime

Thank you Noreen. Any other questions before we wrap?

Noreen Naroo Pucci

Stay sane !! and keep up the great work , thanks !! Over and Out

Casefile True Crime

Never actually conversed with Mike before - and as I said I don’t listen to other crime pods just to ensure I keep sane. So no idea about that one personally.

Dean

That's true Casey. I just panelled a live video chat for Lisa Zambetti from the Real Crime Profile podcast and not only was Kim Holt happy to let me post the link, so was Mike Morford from Criminology pod who broke the news on EARON arrest and Mike came along and spent half the pod chatting with us as well. So it's healthy fraternity of true crime pod people. It's all additive, not competitive. (imo)

James Cutler

Thoughts on Mike Boudet and Sword & Scale?

Casefile True Crime

We don’t actually. Not sure if we will either. There is a big multi parter in the works. But I’m not sure it will work out for case 100.

Casefile True Crime

Yeah we are still shocked ourselves by some of the ones we find. One we are working on at the moment should be massive. But there’s barely anything out there. Hopefully we can help bring a little bit of awareness too it.

Casefile True Crime

But there is some great ones that are favs of the casefile team. Canadian true crime. The fall line. Unresolved. MFM. Criminology. Gen Why. TCG - just to name just a few. It’s a very friendly and supportive community online and on social media which is great.

Casefile True Crime

Out there

Casefile True Crime

No that’s something I don’t do. I’ve heard there is so many good ones or there. But the majority of my time is spent on casefile. So listening to true crime in the spare time I haven’t is something that really appeals to me.

Ian Hume

This has probably been asked, but do you have a special case lined up for when you raise the bat for your century of episodes?

Dean

Casey you and the team do an awesome job of finding not only compelling stories, but ones that are not previously known to most of the general public. I can see it helps to be able to use crimes from all over the world, but it's endlessly fascinating to listen to a ep and think "How did I not know about this one?"

Noreen Naroo Pucci

Ahhh Duh should have known that acronym from all the Facebook posts LOL

Dean

Unusually Small Penis ;-)

Noreen Naroo Pucci

Who is USP?

Dean

Even scarier for offenders now is that they can pull off a PERFECT crime, apart from leaving trace DNA ... and be as careful and clever as they like, but if a relative you have never even met uploads *their* DNA into GED, you can be tracked down like USP was. I think it was his fourth cousin off whom they got the hit.

Noreen Naroo Pucci

Just curious if you listen to crime podcasts your self ?? I am also appreciating the British one, They walk Among us

Noreen Naroo Pucci

yes i do like it when things are resolved! however i also appreciate bringing attention to the unresolved ones... The EARONS case is mind blowing ...It is fascinating to me that back in the day with no internet, limited phone, and no forensics, how anyone was caught

Dean

OMFG what will happen to the true crime community if this crowd sourced DNA gets a hit on Zodiac. I better up my life insurance for the good of my family ...

Casefile True Crime

Haha. Don’t give up!

Dean

Damn ... there goes my burgeoning FBI career being the next Jim Fitzgerald. (The forensic linguistics expert who cracked the Unabomber case)

Casefile True Crime

Lauria

Casefile True Crime

Lots of them. Especially the unsolved ones. It was great to see arrests made in the Laurie Bible and Ashley Freeman case and of course EARONS. Great to see an arrest last year in the Claremont serial killing case as well. Hopefully there’s lots more to come!

Noreen Naroo Pucci

are there any cases that you have covered that you just can't shake ?? if so why? mine would be the Moors, just dues to growing up about a decade after the fact

Casefile True Crime

Ohhh interesting theory. Have t heard that one before. But I’m happy to answer that one - no. Not Baltic’s.

Casefile True Crime

It is all time consuming at the moment. When it first started I had another job. It does get heavy at times. So it’s important to find a bit of balance with other things.

Dean

Casey, your Aussie accent also has a hint of something barely there, I doubt non-Aussies would even hear it ... could I guess your parents weren't born in Australia ? Baltics maybe ? (says me in amateur linguistics mode ;-)

Noreen Naroo Pucci

I am curious, is the podcast all time consuming or do you have another occupation and this is a side thing ? Also Thanks for all the heard work, i am sure so much crime can get a little heavy at times

Casefile True Crime

Oh 100 per cent. I’ve thought that since day one. There would be more crimes he committed while he was active that weren’t reported.

Dean

At the close of the last episode was anyone feeling deja vu with Brendan Dassie from Making a Murderer ?

Dean

On the latest Best Case Worst Case pod on EARONS with Paul Holes, Francey Hakes made the point that rape is a crime massively under reported. Estimate vary from 50% to as low as 30%. So in her professional opinion (US prosecutor) there is almost certainly other victims but he would never be identified as they never went too police and had a rape kit done, so no DNA

Casefile True Crime

Thanks Holly.

Casefile True Crime

Thank you very much. English was probably one of my better classes. Always liked reading. Although that episode and the way the story was told was all due to the talents of Milly!

Dean

How about the Vegas Golden Knights though ... insane !

Holly Hansard

Thanks for time, effort, and a great podcast!!

Casefile True Crime

I’m pretty sure they are Australian aren’t they ? like Russell Crowe ;) We always try and claim Kiwis as Australians. No I’m not personally. Very talented bunch - but not the style of music I’m into personally.

Laura Carlson

This latest episode has me crying the moment you began talking about how Leslie would watch the other children playing outside....😢 Your storytelling is so well done. Did you do well in English class? (Idk what you call it in Australia)

Casefile True Crime

👍 A revamp of the store is something we are currently looking at. Will definitely try and include a zip hoodie.

Patrick Bracken

I know it's New Zealand and not Australia, but are any of you Split Enz/Crowded House/Finn Brothers fans?

Casefile True Crime

Nah he isn’t. Went the Teddy Turbo Quinella. But I love watching Ponga run around every week. He is going to be special.

Jaclyn Sharp

I wish there was a zip hoodie, I don’t buy/wear pullover hoodies ☹️ But maybe when y’all release your new store options? 🤞

Casefile True Crime

Gees a few weird auto corrects there. Hopefully you get my drift...

Casefile True Crime

Don’t google. Repeat do not google!! This one was actually a late decision. Without giving anything anything away - this is almost a 2 in 1 type of story. The more we got into, the more we thought it for a two parter perfectly. All will be revealed next week.

Adam Murphy

Is ponga in your super coach team? The lads on fire.

Patrick Bracken

Sorry to change the subject from East Coast sports, but this week's episode was excellent, and it's all I can do to keep myself from consulting the internet to see how it ends. How do you decide when a particular case needs to be split into multiple episodes?

Casefile True Crime

Byron. Top joint 👌

Laura Carlson

I won’t say a word. 🤐😂

Adam Murphy

The parents have a farm just inland from Byron so we hung down there for the weekend, now back to the daily grind up o. briz mate.

Casefile True Crime

Yep that’s me. Let’s not talk about the Super Bowl 😀

Casefile True Crime

Yeah I like them if Smith is out. Even if they don’t manage to get the win - I wouldn’t have minded a piece of the 10.5 line that was around for Manly before the News about Smith.

Laura Carlson

You’re a Patriots fan, if I remember.

Casefile True Crime

Although - football is the only US team sport I follow.

Adam Murphy

Hopefully you got a few cheekies in at some point mate? You reckon manly will upset storm next week if smith ain't playing?

Casefile True Crime

Guilty.

Casefile True Crime

Yours?

Casefile True Crime

Pretty busy weekend. Schedule is on a bit of a red line at the moment. Only wrapped up recording part 2 yesterday.

Laura Carlson

I’m sensing a pattern. You like east coast US teams. 🤔😂

Casefile True Crime

Tee spring store.

Casefile True Crime

We have a few sprint store. Links via the website. Currently looking at better options though.

Casefile True Crime

Quite possible. But then again. Maybe with children being born he did just stop.

Adam Murphy

Morning cob. How was ya weekend?

Casefile True Crime

Boston Bruins already have the honour :)

Laura Carlson

Chicago Blackhawks!!! That’s my vote. 😂🤷‍♀️

Casefile True Crime

I always wished I went and worked in the UK when I was younger. So maybe there. For that reason.

Casefile True Crime

Ohhh. Tough one. So hard to pick one. I can’t actually pick. Australia!! 😀

Sindy Sinn

...yep. Really nicely edited and put together. With lots of interviews with those involved which is cool. Would definitely recommend it.

Laura Carlson

@Krista 😂😂😂😂😂 💕

Jaclyn Sharp

Where can I find the Casefile shop for merch btw?! 😬

Laura Carlson

Hi! Do you think the EAR has committed more crimes than law enforcement knows about? I’m hoping maybe some Jane Doe cases might be solved.

Nick P

Can we make the Washington Capitals the official hockey team of Casefile podcast? They had the first Australian in NHL history this year!

Krysta Bonneville

If you could have a visa to work in any country in the world, which would it be and why?

Casefile True Crime

I haven’t seen it yet no. Any good?

Sindy Sinn

Have you seen the Netflix series Evil Genius...? It covers the pizza bomber case.

Krysta Bonneville

Whew. Act natural!

Casefile True Crime

😬

Casefile True Crime

Thank you Jaclyn. Much appreciated 👍

Krysta Bonneville

Oo this is my first one. It almost feels like I'm waiting for a first date 😂🙈

Jaclyn Sharp

Hello! Casefile is my husband and mine’s most favorite podcast! We listen to it as often as possible during our long commutes to work. Thank you for all the hard work y’all put into the show, we very much appreciate it!
