Case 118: The Chicago Tylenol Murders

After picking up his two children from preschool, he visited a local Jewel supermarket to purchase some pain relief medication.

I kept thinking I had heard this before, and it was making me really second guess myself. Thankfully Casey mentioned the other case they also presented that was about product tampering. This is honestly so shocking. I canβt imagine not taking for granted over the counter medication, especially these days, where they label and seal all products. I can see why now!

That is really scary!! I am having cancer treatment and I take Nurofen and panadol to relieve the associated pain and headaches that are some of the many side-effects. The idea of something as innocuous as one of these being poisoned is just mind-boggling....and for what purpose???

Oh, wow. Iβm from the Chicago suburbs. I was too young to really remember this going on, but definitely remember my mom telling me to always check pill bottles to make sure they are sealed properly.
