I never realized where the phrase “A dingo ate my baby” came from. I was not familiar with this case. I was outraged when the parents were found guilty. I’m glad justice won out in the end. After listening to this case and the Jonestown case, I will never use the phrases again. Knowing how tragic both cases were.

Welcome back Casefile team - I remember seeing the movie with Meryl Streep and Sam Neil and of course all the references to it in comedies. Quite cruel actually when you consider the context and how this family lost their child. Very interesting episode.

Based on the Q and A, I was wondering what the first case back would be. I would never have guessed this one. Even though I have heard so much about this case, I didn't know a lot about the details. Very well done on a case that has ultimately taken on a life of its own

I don't like to describe things as 'iconic' but of all the true crime cases in Australia, this would have to be the most iconic. The phrase 'a dingo ate my baby' is - as Casey says - has taken on a life of its known and is very much associated with Australia

I think the only way to describe how famous this case is is that there’s a movie in which Meryl Streep plays Lindy Chamberlain. I can’t decide if it or Milat would be the biggest case in Australian history but it would be between the two.

Thank you 🙏 It didn’t take me long to recognize the case, as soon as I heard the word “Dingo” it all came very clear, definitely one of the best known Australian cases. It’s good to know that there was a positive outcome for the family, many, many years later.
