I was thinking the exact same thing! An AMAZING case

Casefile True Crime

Hi Sandra, the name of that case is ringing a bell from somewhere. Sorry to hear about Ajax and Stamp.

Casefile True Crime

Hi Amanda. I'm not familiar with this case, I will note it down.

HelpFind Ajax&Stamp

Oh, my name is Sandra. Ajax and Stamp are my stolen never recovered two dogs.

Thank you. The Batavia was super interesting. Years ago I read of a case called The Sundown Muders, about travellers along Australian outback roads being murdered. People driving would welcome others to share a campfire etc. But then there was a murder or murders and it made outback people wary if strangers. It was in a non fiction book, maybe 40 years ago i read it. I was into True Crime, forensics, criminology as a late teen. I could never find the case again.

Gordon Frederick Cummins, the "Black Out Killer" or "Black Out Ripper". The details of his victims are pretty savage, Evelyn Oatley immediately comes to mind. "In the Dark" by Simon Read seems to have a ton of information, just snagged it on my kindle. Pretty great, so far! :-)

Hey Casey. Not sure if this is on your radar, but would you consider doing a cast on the Alison Botha case??? (Sth Africa) That one just blew me away, as in how that woman survived is beyond me. I’m all over true crime and I had never even heard of this one till this year 😟

Amanda Lewis

Jason do you know the name of said killer so I can google?? 🀣

Amanda Lewis

Thanks jason! I love when CaseFile do old cases and with the way the world is now, just maybe me wonder! Thanks for your suggestion! 😘

Wasn’t there a serial killer in England, during the WW2 bombing blackouts? Not a disease/pandemic, but a pretty awful fucking way to be locked down, bombed by planes for weeks on end. Edit: Gordon Frederick Cummins, spree killer from the blackout. Terrifying stuff

Jason Colombo

Thanks for answering!! Hope I don’t getting annoying with the punk stuff, we all just need a smile, Skiba and Co. provided. ❀️ stay safe and sane, everyone! Much love to all!!

Omgggg! I’m so excited for episode 141!

Casefile True Crime

Good question Amanda. I dont know of any off the top of why head, but I'm sure there are cases that happened during times of diseases/lockdowns.

Stefan Bradley

Thanks for answering my question!

Amanda Lewis

Hi there casey & CaseFile team. Keeping in topic with the world at the moment with the - COVID 19 pandemic, my question is, is there any cases out there that happened during similar time’s? (Eg diseases/lockdown etc) Only because my mum just turned 70 this year and lived thru the war time/rations in Scotland. She said she thought she would never see something like this again.
