Such an awesome episode thankyou for bringing each of the victims to life, such a sad event, terrifying for all those people.

Mollie Linnett

Loved this episode. Apt timing. Thank you so much for taking the time to digress into the personal stories of the victims. Such a heartbreaking tragedy and crime. One of the few episodes that had given me full body bumps for 30mins!

Storme

This was a very good episode. really sad to listen to though, but so well done.

Alice O'Mara

Loved this episode.

Thanks for the episode Casefile, I've never heard of this attrosity. You had me on the edge of my seat.

This is one bloke I would have locked up for the term if his natural life because he never can be trusted.

HelpFind Ajax&Stamp

Next time, please don't mention a dog being killed. Humans yeah, dogs nope. Weird eh, but it is how it is with me.

HelpFind Ajax&Stamp

I trust Casey and the crew. Stick with it, they will not let you down.

As a Victorian I appreciated this episode a lot! Never knew that’s how they caught suspected arsonists!

Carolyn O'Reilly

Best episode for awhile, this is the first podcast I've heard about Black Saturday which fir Australians, especially Victorians, was one of those 'where were you when...' type events. I was on tender hooks the whole time, since I knew the outcome in terms of statistics but not the intricacies of the prosecution's. 17 years is disgusting 😥

Carolyn O'Reilly

It definitely turns...

Chantelle McKerlie

He should have got 17 years per victim, ludicrous! 😥

Mine du Plessis

What an episode. Having just survived the Cuddles Creek fires, this was a tough one. The score is gorgeous and so touching. I love the longer introductions, and the hint at crimes and perps. A great one in my opinion.

Maya George

God, this is such a good episode. Unlike Alan’s comment I think these ‘longer’ introductions that help set the scene are really interesting and help ‘make it real’. True crime isn’t just about the incident but about what happens in the lead up and aftermath, IMO :)

Good point Bob

Patience my friend. Why so much anger.

Bob Trenwith

Did the Peter Nielsen case 36 episodes ago cause you the same concern? It took until the end of part 1 before there was any indication of a crime.

Okay so it does turn to arson. As I said in my previous post, however, there desperately needs to be a hint of there being so earlier than 35-40 minutes in.

So I’ve listened to every episode of Casefile thus far and while the increased push into more diversive content episodes hasn’t always been my favorite, each previous episode to me still seemed to fit within the realm of a true crime podcast to some degree even if I didn’t care for it personally. However, this episode, to me, is the first one I have heard that I feels goes too far and makes me concerned about the direction of the podcast and my continued support of it. At this point I’m 30 minutes in and it seems to be a telling of a natural disaster, with sad tragedy to be sure but true crime? No. What’s next, episodes on volcanos, floods, hurricanes? If I want to hear the details of those events I’ll find a podcast for disasters. If this episode does have a true crime spin at some point, which at 30 minutes there has been no mention at all of there being so, there really needs to be a nod to that fact earlier in the episode. I’ll finish the episode, but it seems it’s just a telling of the fire and the people who died in it? Again, sad story, but outside the scope of a true crime podcast for me personally. Just my thoughts

Bob Trenwith

As climate change progresses, these days will become more and more common.

Lyndsey

I’m not even done with natalee yet! Yessss

Megan Brennan

LOL. Thank you for the laugh.
