Do you think Dennis Nielsen would have been caught if he hadn't moved to a new place and started flushing parts down the toilet? It seemed like he had a bit of a more effective way of getting rid of things at his first apartment.

Are you aware of a Casefile episode making the news or having a real life impact on a case? The Teachers Pet and the first run of Serial most likely had an effect on those cases.
