The Fall Line is smaller/underrated. They focus on the Southeast US & marginalized POC or LGBTQ+ folks whose cases don’t get a lot of national attention and aren’t often covered on other podcasts. The Fall Line could really benefit from the exposure & they cover cases that most people in the true crime world have never heard of, because the victims come from marginalized communities.

Totally random, but Bedrock Wine Conversations is one of the few (and newish) wine podcasts. Hosted by Chris and Morgan from Bedrock Wine. Really excellent if you are into (or trying to get into) wine. Also, and I don’t even know if this would be considered to be a “good” podcast (but I’m obsessed) is Atoms, Motion, and the Void. It is like a kind of odd, ongoing storytelling style podcast. I say I don’t know if it’s considered to be good, because what makes it is Sherwin Sleeves’s storytelling and music - his voice/tones and rhythm are just amazing. It reminds me of listening to Irish folk tales without being that at all. Be warned: it is weird. Really great, yes... But also really weird.

For recommendations outside the true crime podcast space (podspace?), I like Revolutions™, Song Exploder™, and Ologies™. Revolutions™ is just *SO* dense with information. I've studied at three (3) universities, and I can't recall a single class where I had to process anywhere near the amount of information that Mike Duncan crams into his episodes. All those names, dates, places, etc. can be intimidating; sometimes you just have to fall back on plausible deniability: none of it will be on the test! ;) (Duncan is totally deadpan in his delivery. As much as I enjoy listening to Revolutions™ for its content, it is also very useful for drifting off to sleep.) Song Exploder™ is a fascinating look into different musicians' creative process. The host Hrishikesh Hirway interviews a musician about a favorite song from his/her/their catalog, taking it apart and then putting it back together again. The musician tells the story of how the song was created, from the conception and writing, through the recording and post-production. Ologies™ is all about science. The host, Alie Ward, interviews a different scientist from a different field each week, asking them interesting questions we all want to know. Alie is definitely the star here; her narration and production is fantastic, and her little whispered asides to the audience are both hilarious...and sexXxy. ;)

There's a non-true crime one I like called Imaginary Worlds. He talks about all sorts of fiction...Dr Who, Harry Potter, The Expanse, movies, super heroes, animation.... it's really well done.

I 100% agree! EARONS, it introduced me to the case in the most amazingly produced multi episodes with fantastic writing and narration, it was one of my absolute top experiences as a podcast listener, then GSK got caught.. it was something else. I also agree about the Belanglo episodes, so scary and again, the writing, the details, the narration,; best of the best. The closest thing I’ve found to Casefile best of the best experience is Josh Hallmark’s True Crime Bullsh**, and the addictive enigma of Keyes. I will check out Bear Brook, thank you for sharing!

I loved Casefile's™ original five-(5)-episode EARONS arc. I had never heard anything about the case before, and Casey's narration was the perfect way to experience it for the first time. That led me to Criminology's™ entire season they devoted to the same subject...and then hit the *JACKPOT* when DeAngelo was captured in the midst of it. (Talk about being in the right place at the right time!) Years later, all this exposure to the GSK and genetic genealogy laid the foundation for Bear Brook™, which I consider to be the most "premium offering" limited-run in the true crime podcast space. Fantastic reporting of a truly fascinating story. Another single-offender focus title I like a lot is True Crime Bullsh**™. The case is just mind-boggling, both the scope of Keyes' crimes and the depth of Josh' research. I have to shout you guys out again for your Belanglo arc: easily the most terrifying true crime story I've ever heard. I'm not sure how you're going to top it.

The host deserves so much more attention than he's gotten so far. Focus is on aviation disasters but the host is considering expanding to other industrial disasters.

True Crime Bullsh**. Josh Hallmark is an amazing researcher, journalist, writer, storyteller, survivor and investigative writer. Very human, and honest, even the music at the end always blows my mind.. The Israel Keyes case and potential victims are still an enigma... and the case is still very much unresolved
