Great music!

Good job casefile great episode. I found this episode both sad and frustrating - police inconsistencies (again) and the grief that could have been avoided - so very sad for the families. Well done to Robert Reid also for his persistence in keeping the case in the public eye.

This is just heartbreaking. I can’t wait to read Vanessa’s book. How incredible that she survived all of this. I am in awe of her.

I just keep coming back to the placement of the last gunshot wound and how difficult it would be with a shotgun, even a sawed-off shotgun. Excellent episode and really highlights how important it is to do your job right. If only the police processed the scene properly.

People that frequent Patreon are pedantic ah. The music is fine. Great job Casefile!

Incredible effort you guys. Especially communicating with Vanessa. Excellent episode. Side topic. I’m sure you have seen the arrest of a guy who may have some bearing on the Abigail Williams/Liberty German case.

Best episode so far this year. I can see from the show notes that Erin wrote this - well she did an amazing job with how this was structured. The slow unravelling was fascinating to hear. I'm not a huge fan of unsolved cases but this story more than makes up for it.

Found the background piano music too distracting on this episode

Just outstanding storytelling, and in that same breath, so heartbreaking. It's the kind of ending that serves as a sort of bitter closure with little resolve...my heart is heavy for the many, many victims and survivors of this particular case.

This case drives me crazy, been following it for some time. Really well covered on this episode.

Thank you for your feedback and comments. We've softened the music at the beginning a bit.

I know I listen to Casefile, and am used to hearing difficult things, but I can say with certainly that hearing about Alan’s grooming and sexual assault/rape of Vanessa is truely one of the most vile things I’ve heard on this podcast. I’m on the train listening right now but all I want to do is go home and shower. He is revolting

I’m just about to embark on a 2 hour train ride so this is bloody perfect :)

The background Music was great , not at all annoying to me. I’ve not heard of the case, but with the evidence presented, I have little doubt that Allan killed/ or commissioned the deaths of Vicki & Julie-Anne, he was a pedophile that was exposed and killed to protect himself. IMHO

I just increased my pledge as a part of an effort to give more to truly best of the best. No other true crime podcasts put out the consistency like Casefile.

I usually don’t care much for unsolved cases, but this episode was fascinating. Well done. I noticed the music but it wasn’t distracting to me.

Goosebumps! Well done Casey and the team. You covered this story very well and my heart goes out to all the victims. I feel particularly for Vanessa and it's a shame on us / Australia as a society that it's still prevalent today. Love the background music too!

Music was fine for me
Sara
Yeah found the background music super annoying, made it hard to focus on the story for me. Another great episode though!
Molly Cook
Is the piano music at the start distracting to anyone else??

A case I've never heard of, what a treat! ☺
Connor Kimmel
Over halfway through this episode, Alan is looking extremely likely in all this

Fantastic episode, thank you! I came across this case on Australian True Crime, but you fleshed it out so thoroughly with the usual brilliant storytelling. Thanks team!

You guys have really upped your game once more. All of this year‘s cases have been so well told and structured.

This was a really well done episode, one of the best in recent memory. What a sad case.

So well reported/recorded. My hearts go out to the all the victims in this case; Vicky, Julie-Anne, Vanessa, Monica and their families. So sad those poor women aren’t able to have any concrete justice nor will the families (by the sound of it) ever have peace of mind. I loved listening to this episode and am in awe of Vanessas strength to be so involved. Great work

Fantastic job telling this story! Thanks Casey and team!

Two hours! Thank you Casefile :)
