Premium Episode #2 - Doctor John
🕑 Added 2021-12-11 09:39:14 +0000 UTCIn 1992, newlyweds John and Lisa Schneeberger were living a charmed life together in the small farming community of Kipling, Saskatchewan. John was one of just two doctors in Kipling and every time Lisa went into town, she was stopped in the street by well-meaning locals who told her how lucky she was to be married to “such a wonderful man”. She entirely agreed with them.

Amber I am so sorry this happened. And I agree - what an inspiration Candace is.

I remember this story but love the retelling by my favorite podcast! This one had me screaming in anger - I did not remember the details about the forced visitation after conviction or how short the sentence was

This case is so horrifying. I knew what it was almost immediately, but the framing of the whole thing through his wife's point of view just drives home how skillful he was at gaslighting. Wow.

I still remember this Forensic Files episode! I can't believe he served so little time for his crimes. He should still be in prison till this very day.

We're so sorry that happened to you Amber, it's very courageous of you to open up about it.

What a rat bag - cannot believe he got off basically on the charges of sexual assault and rape of his step daughter.

Hi Mark, you should be seeing all episodes. There is no tier that only grants access to Patreon Picks. Are you trying to access them through Patreon or via another app? Send us a private message and we will be happy to troubleshoot this for you.

Hi Joe. You still get new content when the older Patreon Picks are re released to non Patreon supporters. We always release a new Patreon Pick for Patreon supporters that week, on top of the re release to non supporters. Have done all year and will continue to do so next year. Also Case 199 is the last episode non Patreon supporters get this year.

Forensic Files covered this case years ago, and it’s one of my favorite episodes. Candace is interviewed, and she’s just amazing. Who knows how many women and girls she saved from the same fate. For those interested, the episode is called “Bad Blood”, season 6, episode 18 and it’s on YouTube, at least in the US.

I don't know about anyone else but I cried when I heard that Amy didn't want to tell her mom because if Lisa didn't believe Candace, she wouldn't believe her. Thank you Casefile for another incredible episode and can't wait for the 200th!

CF I love you but if we're really paying you the best part of 70 bucks a year for six contentless weeks, can you not repeat the picks in lieu of actual episodes for non-supporters. Means we end up with nothing new when they are regurgitated making the contentless week count higher.

I'm sorry for your assault, that you had to go through that. You are brave as well 💕
Amber
Thank you for covering this story, Casefile team. I was assaulted by a doctor when I was 20. It took years to realize what happened and that I was a victim. Candace was so brave to keep pursuing this monster, even when she faced so many obstacles.

I pay $5/m

I have Patreon Picks, just not Patreon Episodes that were *not* picks
Camilla Dyre Frank
I think it’s $5 - are you sure you don’t have access to the rest? There’s been two Patreon Picks in a row now.
Mark Thomas
How much do I have to pay to have access to *all* Patreon episodes? I pay monthly but only have access to Pat Picks:(
Jason Colombo
If this fuck a prop in a Sam Raimi movie?? Rubber tubing IN his arm? And it was visible?? What an asshole

Awesome storytelling as always. I wish we had #200 before the break but totally understandable. Thank you guys for consistently compelling content!
Michael Brodie
This is classic Casefile. Amazing story. Great writing. And Casey's pitch perfect narration. I hope Steve Martin is a Patreon...

This POS is posting "comedy" on his YouTube channel under his real name. Everyone should pay his videos a visit and tell him what they think of him.

Thank you. Very interesting Case.

Why have there been two Patreon Picks in a row? I was excited to see what you guys had come up with for #200😅🙃
