did anyone else not super enjoy the way this was told?? i really feel like the focus was just too much on Margaret and the killer as opposed to the story of the victim? i get the different viewpoint angle but unsure, don't think i was a fan! 😢😢

A podcast episode has never made me actually scream out loud until the maggot comment. My goodness. What a terrible guy. Well done, team!

I have listened to every Casefile episode and often am shocked, sickened or emotional but this dear little girl’s tragic end of life made we physically weep (I have a six year old child). May he rot in hell. Respectfully done AGAIN Casey.

Crazy case, never knew it was so close to home. Wish you would use the metric system as well for us Aussies though, the imperial system makes zero sense, especially if the case takes place in Australia.

Totoro

Absolutely haunting case, exceptionally well told. Great job everyone. Thank god he’s never getting out and what in all the hells was in that maggot bag?? 🤮

I have finally finished this episode and honestly, I was GRIPPED the entire time. The story telling in this was exceptional. Not just from starting from a witness point of view, but even the way Shane’s involvement was included. This is truely one of the best episodes. RIP Sheree Beasley ❤️

This episode was so thorough and well written, I wonder though why we didn’t hear more about Lowe’s childhood and origin story. It’s always interesting to me when the way perpetrators behave is somewhat contextualised. The fact that he was a practising Christian adds a certain grossness to the case.

Interesting writing, bringing the witness perspective in before the third person

We don't have the right to take someone's life, whatever the reason.

I was a 7 year old girl living in Melbourne when Sheree was murdered. My Nanna drove the same car as the murderer. I remember her police interview in our front yard. My family were so scared about my whereabouts all the time. RIP

I'm an American so that's my first thought but I'm curious if the rules of patient/therapist confidentiality are slightly different in Australia? I feel like there should never be an exception when it comes to public safety but it sounded to me like Margaret really did break some kind of confidentiality to bring Lowe to justice. Could anyone from Australia weigh in?

Why we stopped the death penalty, I'll never know, this scum doesn't deserve to live better than our old age pensioners.

Maggie Vouk

Loved the telling of the story through Margaret’s eyes to start. So fascinating to hear a different perspective. And that poor, poor baby. Another great episode all!

Alexandra Peshcherenko

That maggot story 🥶

I think this is one of the best episodes of Casefile ever. So well written and presented with such depth and compassion. Well done

What a devastating story. The part about Sheree making breakfast for her Mom, really got to me, what a sweet little girl. My daughter also loves her pink bicycle and helmet with cat ears, I couldn't fathom anything happening to her like this. I'm so glad this monster is behind bars and I hope he's having the worst time of it.

After watching Mindhunter I read most of John Douglas’ books about sexual homicide/crimes and he always emphasises that he believes these types of offenders cannot be reformed. So I’m glad this guy got life in prison with no chance of parole. Just wish more sexual offenders would receive similar punishments in Australia. Harrowing story and enjoyed the way the different stories/timelines were put together. Just can’t imagine walking in Margarets shoes, what a person.

I always think of these cases together. I suppose the cops must’ve looked into it …

Wow 😯 I remember this case - looking forward to hearing it

People who put their professional principles ahead of the safety of children.... no words.

I love every episode of Casefile and eagerly await each one. This episode is exceptional. It is so tragic and compelling. The writing and reporting exceed your usual high standards. This little Angel will stay with me for a long time. Thank you for sharing her story.

Kristin Blinco

That was a well written and described story. As a former Parole Officer myself whom is currently studying Psychology; this story truely gave me chills.

Awesome episode. Definitely bit of an odd bloke, that Robert!

Great work Erin !

Bob Trenwith

So how do we know he is not Mr Cruel?
