I can't, for the life of me, place where I have heard this case before. I am thinking another pod, but who knows. As usual, the Casefile team told the story with the utmost respect.

I despair for the human race, what some people are capable is horrific. All for money. I feel for the families left behind having to live on with the knowledge of what happened to their children.

This Case reminds me of another case where a man, who makes his living as a nuclear engineer or similar, runs upstairs in his home to discover his young wife and mother of their infant being bludgeoned to death. I hope you'll consider a telling of that story sometime.

Though I realized at some point while listening that I had heard or seen a telling of this case, as always Casefiles version is vastly superior. The writing is exemplary. The unbiased, repectful and detailed careful writing and narration are what make Casefile's version so compelling. I also am very impressed with the respect you show for the victims, without the gushing, overdone platitudes so many of the other well meaning podcasts fall into.

I believe I saw this story on Dateline once. But, once again, this episode was way more detailed. Very well done, Casefile.

Thank you for the great story. We have heard many where the police have done a terrible job. Here they did well. Separately, I just watched a video, elsewhere, where it was argued that stupidity is more dangerous than evil. I have seen it many times. Here, two people died because of the stupidity of these crooks. Senseless murders.

It finally happened; an episode where I live 😭 long beach is a HUGE sprawling city and so I was really taken aback that sam's dad canvased the place given how massive it is. This was told so well, and I've been to every location mentioned in this episode. Costa Mesa is a performing arts community for sure, and murder is definitely not common...so I'm especially shocked that I've never heard of this case!

Yet another sad case of people doing the despicable just for money. Can't either fathom what goes through someones head when they think their only option out of financial troubles is murder. My thoughts are with the families affected ❤

Brilliant narration as always. I had heard this case before but not in full detail. What an evil human the killer was. So glad he was called out by the detective "you're not a very good actor" would have been quite a blow to the egotistical POS.
