Many people Watched it too! I’m sure you’ve already seen many docs on Kitty. Basically majority of ppl KNEW it was bad and all decided someone else would call it in and then the next person thought the same, that someone else would call it in. Others did not want to “get involved” and urged their roommate/partner to let someone else handle it. Truly a tragic event.

Excellent twisting case! I do hope people listening remember to always trust your judgment and call the police when in doubt. It may just be drama, but let them determine that. I grew up in NYC, and am reminded of the case of Kitty Genovese. Many people heard her struggling but did not call authorities. She died. Always call!

Great episode as always! At 1:02:24 there may be an error, it refers to "Brittany's brother Hugh" but I think Hugh was Jayna's brother?

I heard this case before on Red Collar and I felt myself getting so angry as soon as I heard Brittany's name and then as the episodes on, I found myself second guessing if I'd ever heard this case before. I think the reveal was so well done and this case was one of the best written yet! Thank you for sharing this case.

The ferocity of the attack sticks with me on this one. All over some clothes. Brittany has to be a narcissistic sociopath.

All opinions and feedback are valued and have helped Casefile become the best podcast it can be, so they do care :) I personally love the structure, the twists always get me or I make my own assumptions (unless I know the story.) But it does differ from episode to episode, depending on the writer/researcher. I still feel its quite similar to how Casey began his episodes, but there are little bits that are left out then come into play later to build the story more at times.

Maybe it is just me but I have been noticing a slight change in how most of the last episodes have been structured. It seems like the story is told in a way that leaves crucial details that were known to police/witnesses/etc out only to reveal them later. This is obviously done to create tension, but it makes me as a listener feel „cheated“. There never really was a ‚mystery‘ unless you tell the story exactly the way you did tell it. I had never noticed this type structure before, maybe I am wrong, maybe no one else cares. Apart from that you guys are doing a great job. Thanks :)

This is a case I never cease to be fascinated by. When I saw Casefile was doing it, I pressed PLAY immediately. The storytelling on Casefile is A-List! Starting off with the Apple store workers hearing the noises was a great opening. It is maddening they did nothing, but then I can't imagine how they feel now and am sure it haunts them. And what else can you say about the brutality of the crime and the impact of the loss suffered by Jayna's family when her nephews check to make sure a killer named "Brittany" isn't hiding in their closet, putting even the Boogeyman in 2nd place. That says it all.

Ahhh, this case is so sad and shocking, it hits hard every time I hear it covered. I'm really glad Casefile is covering it, I know it will be typically amazing, but bracing myself to listen to this one, not gonna lie.
