It’s so odd that a spiritualist would kill. I mean people of any religious persuasion can. But as a spiritualist, under our belief system, it’s an unbelievably terrible idea. The probability of consequence (if not here, over there) is 100%, and most of us aren’t raised spiritualist but come into it after experiences. Hence virtually all of us, if not all, are true believers.

Hate to be that person, Casey, but it’s “veterinarian” and “veterinary” (say “vet-rin-arian” and “vet-rin-ry”) not “vetenarian” 😅 Omfg this case though. NEVER has a Casefile case been full of so many twists, turns, and DRAMA. When Casey said “newspapers were comparing the case to an Agatha Christie novel” I fully agreed! It really does sound like a book, from the divorcee vet who chair a cat protection society with hints of charity corruption - the ex dramatically being stopped at a train station about to depart the state - the little frail old man being convicted - the Occult Society involvement - it’s just unreal! Amazing job team 👏

I felt like I was listening to an episode of Midsommer Murders! Not based on the quality- it was top notch as always, but the details. The veterinarian, the cat society, a diminutive bespectacled man w a cat in his arms, the blood spray on the bushes, the sundress, the petty squabbles between people who knew each other well, the cat murdering it’s owner possibly and walking away unscathed, classical music and of course the psychics and tarot readings. 😂

Intense cat lady drama, psychic church drama, weird possibly false conviction, A Cat Did It theory, the funeral march, this episode had it all! Well done on a well written episode, Jess, & well done Mike on the inevitable musical fade out. I just want answers!!!! If it really was the palm reader guy, why????

Given that the Funeral March and the Casefile theme are in different keys, overlapping them would create jarring musical dissonance! As it is, there is a segue but because the march fades out as the intro fades in, the dissonance is minimal.

I remember this case from when I was in high school. Brisbane can get really dark. Max Sica and the Singh family is another really interesting case.
