As well as being a fun and kind hearted partner, Mike was a wonderful father figure to Nadja’s 14-year-old daughter Payton. In May 2017, the three of them moved from Ogden, Utah, to a farmhouse Mike had just bought in Caldwell, Idaho.
But when a woman by the name of Cheryl Baker arrived unannounced at the property one day, tragedy ensued.

I listen to this podcast every single day multiple times a day and this one hits close to home and my husband and I look forward to learning more details about the case we have heard about only on the local news! We live right outside of Boise Idaho about 15-20 minutes from Caldwell where this crime took place and when it happened it shocked our entire area because of the violence and mystery of what, how, when, why, and who went down!

Incredible writing as always. American here, we do not use the term "the baseball" - we just say "baseball" or "the baseball game" when talking about watching or playing the sport. That's not a complaint, just an fyi. I thought it was kind of cute when you said "the baseball", it made me chuckle. Maybe I'll start using that instead.

You're free to not prefer it but I'm not sure if there's really a basis to disagree about the authenticity real audio clips add lol. These cases are of real people. Real victims and real perpetrators. So actually hearing the people involved with it absolutely makes it more authentic as opposed to hearing everything through a third person.

Casefile always had audio clips. They're just not present in every episode. Some of the best episodes have had audio clips. It actually adds authenticity and insight to the case.

One thing I love so much about Casefile over other true crime podcasts is the lack of inserted audio clips. Is this going to be a regular thing? I’ve noticed the last few episodes have included some variation of them.
