Case 234: Franca Viola
🕑 Added 2022-12-03 10:06:25 +0000 UTCIn 1963, on the Italian island of Sicily, a wealthy young bachelor named Filippo Melodia began a courtship with a teenager named Franca Viola, much to the displeasure of Franca’s father.
Less than three years later, Franca survived a terrifying ordeal, after which both Franca and Filippo had no choice but to leave their fate in the hands of the Sicilian justice system. At the centre of it all were six words and a quiet strength that would change their young lives, and Sicily, forever.
This was Patreon Picks #18, released in May 2022. It is not new content, it is the same episode, but as Patreon picks episodes are now going to be released on the main feed months after their initial Patreon release, we had to repost it so that all episodes can keep the same numbering on the main feed and the Patreon feed.

As messed up as this was, it was cool that there was a little love story nestled into this. She was able to connect with a childhood sweetheart, got married and had kids.

What an incredibly brave and resilient human Franca is, what an amazing family. Oh, to see the look on his face when she said she wouldn't marry him. What a POS he was. So glad she found love!
