This was the first cf I haven’t been able to listen to… All I have is that poor woman, I hope to a God I don’t believe in she is (somewhat) ok

fiona liston

I thought nothing could shock me anymore, but this, I’m horrified that anyone could do that to another person.

Amber

I saw it on American Justice when I was probably way too young! It's definitely one of the first true crime cases I heard about as well. Over the years it's been covered a lot, but Casefile always handles their stories with extensive research and sensitivity. We love them for that.

AR

Fwiw I feel like this case isn't covered very often in the era of true crime podcasts so a lot of newer or younger fans haven't heard of it. For my part, it was one of the very first true crime cases I ever learned about and I don't remember when or where, but it was so harrowing I haven't been able to listen to many retellings of it since. For Casefile I may make an exception, but that day is not today. Still I am very glad they covered this one.

Awful toxic

Chris Rodriguez

I'm just saying what we're all thinking. Again I know it's not her fault. I'm just thinking out loud. Im a human, flawed and imperfect. Just saying I mean.....c'mon

Michael Brodie

Yes, posted in fury more than anything.

Amber

It's a very famous case that has been covered in books, podcasts and TV shows. Casefile tends to stay away from such notorious cases unless they have something new to add, so I'm just interested to hear their telling of it.

Kylie Hirst

How long until the next episode is up? Usually it's up by now!

Kylie Hirst

How come? I've never heard of it, is it common knowledge where you live?

Sarah

Obviously the contract is fake

I agree with many others. This one was really heavy, I know you have covered cases that would be seen as ”more disturbing” for sure, but.. I think it’s one of the very few times I’ve ever been truly emotionally affected. My heart broke and ached for Colleen. Can’t wait to hear the rest. Thank you for all you do🥰

Elly Yarali

Chris, in your first comment, you claim; ”I would never victim blame”. Yet, here you are, doing exactly just that from the first to the last sentence in your answer to me. You sound like the ”I’m not a racist, buut…”-kind of people. The aggressor is always at fault, yes, repeat that mantra until you can act like you truly believe it too…

This seems to be the case that inspired the song Jennifer’s Body by Hole… “He keeps you in a box by the bed Alive, but just barely”

Demi

This case unsettles me in a way I can't explain. Like, great storytelling because it's far from the most heinous crime Casefile has covered but makes me more unsettled than some of the more disturbing ones.

Alan

I appreciate the different styles of storytelling this season. This one was a lot heavier than I was anticipating, particularly when she got to see her family in the beginning. Looking forward to the resolution of the case... 🫣

Hi Arturo, sorry for missing your msgs. We can't do anything from our side, it's best to contact Patreon support if you have playback issues.

kristen

Same, love all the deep investigative details. I prefer longer content overall if the info is available.

Sasha Heath

Nah they’re great

Zac

What a inhumanely disgusting comment.

Kath Tee

I love them

Sidney Reynen

Oh my god, i can't believe your takeaway after this hour-plus-long episode is "wow can't believe this dumb woman let herself be kidnapped and tortured"

Arturo

Hello casefile people! Ive been sending you messages but I get no response, I cant listen to the patreon episodes for a good few weeks after release and I cant seem to get any help from you. Could you please look into it?

William Parrent

I can't stand multi-episode cases. What a bummer every time I see the freaking numbers. Put out a longer than normal episode, or edit. Some of the cases that extend beyond two podcasts are complete snoozers.

Chris Rodriguez

Everyone begs you not to hitch hike but you do it anyways, even after you're assaulted. A strange couple interrogates you and asks to take you down a secluded road and you're like "I'm game". Idk, I'm sure her reasoning will be more clear by the next episode but uh...

Michael Brodie

Contract law 101 - a contract for illegal purposes is unenforceable in all respects. Even if this were not the case, a contract signed under threat, duress, coercion or undue influence is unenforceable.

SalBee

I really wish I had the discipline for that. I do the exact opposite. Listen then google and find out what happens 🤦‍♀️

Jaye Leppky

Yup! I refuse to listen until all parts are available lol

Elly Yarali

… but what?

Iain Strachan

Not heard of this case before and wow, what a story 😳

Amber

I'm surprised Casefile would cover this case! I'm looking forward to hearing your research and writing of Colleen's story.

Chris Rodriguez

Laura Friedrich

I remember hearing about this case years ago… 😬😬😬

brock305miller

Anyone else wait until the second part drops before listening? The suspense kills me if I have to wait a week in between episodes lol
