We seem to have misplaced one of our measuring beakers and need someone with enough Intelligence to find a solution. As you know, a batch of Healing Potions requires exactly 4 liters of Water for the mixture. The complication however is we only have 3 liter and 5 liter measuring beakers. An elementary task such as this is below our attention, but it should be perfect for a low intellect individual like yourself, correct?”

Objective:
4 Liters of Water
Help the Alchemist by Commenting below with your procedural method. And remember she needs EXACTLY 4 liters of water. Any off measurements will resulted in a wasted batch of potions and an unhappy Commander.

1- Put water in the 5 liter beaker until half. 2- Put water in the 3 liter beaker until half. 3- Merge the result of the 3 liter beaker in the 5 liter beaker, you got exactly 4 liter in the 5 liter beaker.
Fill up the 5, pore into the 3, pore out the 3 and pour the remaining 2 into the 3, fill up the 5 again and pour into the 3 remove that 1 liter to make 4

fill up the 5 liter beaker -> refill into the 3 liter -> 2 liters remain empty the 3 liters -> pour the 2 liters in the 3 liter fill up the 5 liter beaker -> fill the 3 liter beaker with 1 liter from the 5 liter beaker 4 liters remain in the 5 liter beaker

fill the 5 liter beaker then transfer the water to the 3 liter beaker leaving 2 liter in the 5 liter beaker and add to the patch, do the same thing one more time and you will have the 4 liter necessary to make the potion

Fill 3 liter beaker and dump it in the 5 liter. Fill up 3 liter and top off 5 liter, leaving one litre in 3 liter beaker. Dump out the 5 liter beaker then dump the remainder of the 3 liter beaker in the 5 liter. Fill the 3 liter and then dump it in the 5 liter, giving you 4 liters.
