When I was about 13, we were on a school trip to a castle. There was scaffolding around the castle tower because I think they were doing some renovation work or something like that. When we went up the tower, it started to get cloudy and a storm was brewing. At one point, a buzzing sound like electricity came from the scaffolding mentioned above. I looked back and everyone had their hair up. I thought it was great, but the people at the castle immediately told us to go down. Now that I know a little more about how lightning works, I agree with them because it really was dangerous.

If I remember correctly, as a kid I wasn't really afraid of thunderstorms. I liked lightning and my friends and I would try to calculate the distance at which the lightning struck based on the time between the flash and the thunder.

I was always scared of thunder storms when I was a kid. But stuff like this reminds me how they can be beautiful
