I love Mathias's way of thinking. The Shinto come to ruin the day, let's turn it around. And I agree, why throw away three Divine Beasts and several swords when you can sell them to the highest bidder? And in the meantime, let the Shinto see it. I also like how considerate he is with Shizukka. Besides, even if you're thinking about forming cadet branches, he has many more options. This was a transitionary chapter, which is not normally a problem, except that the last chapter of this story was several months ago, so having a transitional chapter is kind of disappointing unless another chapter of this story is coming soon. Otherwise, I feel focusing on other stories would make more sense.
