Chapter 281: A Conversation About Ideals
Priam had no illusions: a mid-Tier divination expert could probably still scry him without him even knowing, let alone stop it. However, even they would now receive far less information than before.
“This is weird,” came a feminine voice.
Opening his eyes, Priam found himself nose to nose with Jasmine. “You’re way too close.”
The assassin stepped back with a mischievous smile. “Oops.”
He noticed she had changed clothes. Her sleek, sporty bodysuit had been replaced with a shadowy cocktail dress, dark as night. Made of shadows, it wasn’t restricting her movements in the slightest, but announced a shift in her mood. The sadness from earlier had been replaced by playfulness.
“What’s weird?” asked the part of Priam not constantly analyzing his surroundings.
“[Identification] is throwing an error, and my shadows are struggling to detect you.” Jasmine frowned. “Even my Domain’s having trouble pinning down your outline. But my eyes can see you, my ears can hear you, and my nose can smell you.”
“Just say I stink.”
“No, you smell like... a mix of smoke and nature, maybe?”
[Ciphered Record] was masking Priam’s Akashic signature—whatever that meant. It was expected that the resistance would block [Identification], but the fact it could also scramble the senses granted by a Domain or Concept was fantastic news.
“A skill truly worthy of its legendary status,” Priam smirked, sealing his Memory. Just one level-up of his new resistance, and he would trigger a sixth Tribulation. A stupid way to die.
“Think I could get the same resistance?”
Priam pondered for a moment, then shook his head. “It would definitely help an assassin like you, but I don’t know how to make it happen. Without the Sector Hope administrator's intervention or ‘Back in Time,’ I wouldn’t have even met the prerequisites for it.” As Jasmine pouted, Priam had an idea. “You could declare your Achievements? That would fulfill some requirements.”
“And ruin others,” Jasmine replied, shaking her head. “I’m an assassin. Some of my skills rely on me staying under the radar. It’s already bad enough being a Champion without drawing more attention. I’ll just wait until I hit other ideal prerequisites. I’m sure there are similar resistances out there for people like me.”
“I wouldn't do that if I were you,” interjected the phoenix.

“Most ideal skill prerequisites involve putting yourself in serious danger,” Lasha explained, her sultry voice making every word feel like a secret promise. “If you refuse to level up your abilities and take risks, you’ll eventually die. The only workaround is to downgrade a skill, but that costs a ton of Potential. There’s a reason only one in ten million people has an ideal skill.”
“Priam’s got ten of them,” Luc pointed out, leaning against a balcony railing. Below, a sprawling metropolis stretched out—skyscrapers made of ice stood alongside stone trees. This extravaganza of wonders could have been the capital of a civilization, but it was the exclusive property of Lasha. The young man had almost been impressed until he remembered he would soon be rich enough to buy it all. All it took was for Priam to keep defying the impossible.
“Priam’s an anomaly. Most descendants of mythical clans have fewer ideal prerequisites.”
Luc grimaced. Even with the nearly two million contribution points he had withdrawn, he wasn’t rich enough to ask the Mercenaries to grant him that many ideal skills. Priam was a freak of nature.
“I figured some ancient clans would have more than ten ideal skills.”
Lasha, the manager of the Mercenaries’ Casino, let out a laugh. Luc knew she was teasing him, but her laugh was so charming he let it slide. The fact that she charged him normal rates for their lessons—when, as a Tier 5, she could have multiplied the price a thousandfold—warmed his heart.
“You underestimate the jealousy of the nobles and the powerful,” the stunning elf finally replied. “Few of them are willing to raise a generation stronger than themselves—afraid they’ll be replaced. Of course, there are exceptions, but those prodigies often meet an untimely end... or live long enough to become monsters themselves.”
“And us?”
“Us?”
“The Mercenaries.”
Lasha gave him a surprised look, then playfully mocked him. “You think you’re a prodigy in danger?”
“Not really; no one would dare mess with your boyfriend.”
“You haven’t won your bet yet,” Lasha responded, her hair stirred by a nonexistent breeze.
“It’s only a matter of time.”
“I hope so…” Her words made Luc’s heart race. “To answer your question, the Mercenaries were founded by people who aim to reach the Zenith. This competitive spirit and our strict rules prevent the slaughter of our geniuses. That’s why we’re one of the most powerful factions in the universe. Plus…” Her gaze darkened. “A multiversal war is brewing. Now more than ever, our faction is looking to create powerhouses.”
Luc swore he would be one of them. He would bet on every opportunity until he hit the jackpot.
“So, about ideal skills—anything else I need to know before making my choice?” he asked eagerly.
Lasha raised two fingers. “First, having an ideal skill saves you a prerequisite when upgrading it.”
“The rich get richer, and the poor get poorer.” It was true, even for a gambler like Luc.
“A universal truth. Second, a legendary ideal upgrade doesn’t require a connection to a Supremacy or a Concept. That means you can get a skill that’s outside your usual build.”
Luc raised an eyebrow. He already had plenty of skills that had nothing to do with his Luck Concept.
“You might not see the appeal now, but think ahead,” Lasha advised. “Unless you’re an absolute genius, you’ll only master one Concept at the same Tier as your soul. At Tier 5, you’ll get an evolution of your Luck Concept, and all your skills will center around that. It’ll limit your ability to min-max your stats, but it worsens. Imagine you run into a nemesis who’s resistant to Luck-based tricks—you’ll be stuck throwing epic-tier fireballs at them. Not sure that’ll cut it. But if you’ve managed to get ideal upgrades, those fireballs will be Legendary, maybe even Mythical. Enough to surprise an enemy who thinks they’ve cornered you.”
“Just Mythical?”
“After that, getting prerequisites that don’t align with your Concept is a nightmare.”
A gong rang, and Lasha clapped her hands together. “Break’s over—back to training.” She pulled a coin from her pocket. “If you guess right, you get to choose the next lesson’s focus.”
With a flick of her thumb, she sent the coin spinning through the air. Luc watched it, aware that with more perception and vivacity, he could simulate its fall and predict the outcome. But that wasn’t his style.
“Tails,” he called before it hit the ground. When the coin settled on the thick carpet, he smiled. His Luck was progressing fast, and he couldn’t wait to see the world through his Concept’s Unity.
“It’s getting too easy for you. We need something harder…” Lasha grumbled before smirking. “Next time, you’ll have to guess the color of my underwear.”
“You’re not even wearing—” Luc stopped mid-sentence. Too late.
“Oh? And how do you know that?”

The phoenix’s explanation about ideal skills had cleared things up for Priam, but he had one last question.
“One of the tribe shamans hinted that multiple ideal upgrades exist for the same skill. Is that true?”
“It is,” the phoenix confirmed, “but each prerequisite pushes the skill in a specific direction. If you choose an ideal upgrade for [Moon Mist] before uniting with Mist, you will alter its nature.”
“Why is that a problem?” Jasmine asked. “It’s kind of redundant with his Concept.”
“A skill uses aether, while a Concept mainly drains mental endurance,” the phoenix reminded her. “I’m sure you see the value in tapping into two different resources. Additionally, [Moon Mist] loses flexibility as it gains power. By combining both, you can create mist three times faster while tapping into two sources. Plus, level-ups grant attributes that strengthen your Concept.”
For a brief moment, Priam thought about creating a skill to manipulate fire—Pyro consumed a lot of mental stamina. A glance at his stats convinced him to drop the idea. Tribulations ensured no one could possess too many powerful skills.
“Interesting as all this is,” Jasmine yawned dramatically, “I don’t think you’ve spent a single reward yet.”
Priam laughed and opened his reward list, eyeing his Tokens. Fusion, Evolution, Affinity, Talent, and Revelation. He would use them all soon, but the most pressing was the one that could upgrade a Talent to seraphic rank.
[Talent Token - Seraph Rarity] - Choose one of your Talents from the list and evolve it to seraphic rarity.
Note: Talents are etched into the soul. Upgrading by multiple rarity levels may negatively impact the user.

“Since I turned back time, I've been wondering which Talent to upgrade to Seraphic rank,” Priam said, summoning his bound weapon. The spear gleamed, catching the light from the artificial star glowing overhead. “Promesse could be upgraded with the help of a master blacksmith and some rare metals. Out of my remaining Talents, only [Chimera], [Hoplite Warpath], and [He Who Eludes Gods] interest me. Got any advice?”
“Read me their descriptions,” the phoenix replied.
[Chimera - Bronze] - Your body can cope better with the simultaneous presence of opposing elements. Your biological system will adapt to many changes.
[Hoplite Warpath - Gold] - Enhances your talent for physical violence.
[He Who Eludes Gods - Gold] - Your soul belongs to you. You are now unique. The one and only Priam Azura.
Priam finished reading, and the phoenix took a moment before speaking again. “The Token will upgrade one Talent to Seraphic rank. If that rank doesn’t exist for the Talent, the Token will create it. As Hoplites are still a new civilization, [Hoplite Warpath] doesn't have a Seraphic rarity. It might improve your ability to fight... or give you some negative result.”
Priam frowned, clearly unimpressed. “Scholar and warrior, sure. Bloodthirsty brute? Hard pass.”
“A wise choice,” the phoenix agreed. “[He Who Eludes Gods] is a powerful option, but by far the most dangerous. I can’t go into details, but I strongly advise against it.”
The oath of his mentor was sometimes frustrating, especially for someone as curious as Priam. “I would appreciate some context.”
The phoenix glanced at Jasmine, hesitating.
“She’s my Shadow now,” Priam reminded him. He didn’t fully understand what that entailed yet, but he was sure she would never betray him. Ever.
“I recommend not spreading this knowledge: some have an interest in keeping the masses ignorant...” The phoenix paused, his voice dropping. “There weren’t always minor gods—Tier 5s like Viracocha. Eons ago, in another universe, a special being used the power of faith to carve his own path to the Zenith.”
Priam hung on every word. The Zenith was the peak of existence, synonymous with omnipotence and omniscience. Not even the Seven had reached it.
“This event altered the laws of aether itself. Since then, He has ruled over His universe, with His pantheon leeching off countless others. Our universe is shielded by the Concepts, but many are not.”
Sitting cross-legged, his back straight and his muscles keeping him balanced, Priam mulled over the phoenix’s words. The three Supremacies, the Concepts, and now the power of faith—he now knew five ways to reach the Zenith. According to both the phoenix and the Empress, [He Who Eludes Gods] and celestial souls were tied to the power of faith. Claiming such a Talent would make him a sworn enemy of the gods.
“If we piss off the wrong gods or leave this universe, we’ll have High Tiers chasing us down,” Jasmine summarized. “That’s not great for our lifespan.”
“It’s far worse than that,” the phoenix added darkly. “If a major god captures you in their Divine Kingdom, not even death will free you. Your soul will be their plaything until they die... which could take a while, since they’re Immortals.”
“Fine, let’s avoid what might provoke the wrath of the gods.” For now. “What about [Chimera]?”
“[Chimera]...” The phoenix stiffened, almost imperceptibly, but Priam caught it with his supernatural senses. His eidetic memory confirmed it—his mentor had shuddered. “... is a Talent rarely offered by the Concepts. Nevertheless, it’s both ancient and potent. It will synergize with [Homo Elysian Obsession] and mediate the conflict within your bloodlines.”
“Which conflict?”
“You didn’t think you could accept two noble bloodlines without consequences, did you? The only reason I let you devour the wyvern’s heart was because of this Talent. Once the purity of those bloodlines increases, they’ll start to clash. [Chimera] is a way to keep the two beasts inside you from tearing you apart."
“Then why hesitate? Seems like an obvious choice.”
Priam extended his hand toward the pool, and a medallion floated out. Its color—a mesmerizing blend of turquoise and gold—was almost as captivating as its texture. Closing his eyes, he could have sworn he was touching liquid, yet the metal under his fingers was solid. The illusion undoubtedly stemmed from its spiritual properties.
“Do you have a death wish?”
Priam tore his eyes from the Token and gave his mentor an exasperated look.
“I’ve always hated those passive-aggressive remarks. I’m more receptive when people say things directly without trying to humiliate me in the process.”
The phoenix and his pupil locked eyes until, finally, the bird looked away. “I’m afraid my patience is running thin. We’ll finish this later.”
“Because of [Chimera]?” Priam pressed as the phoenix started to leave.
“Keep your secrets,” Priam said to the phoenix’s silence. “But if you want me to save your original, maybe you should ensure I don’t die doing something dumb." The phoenix froze. “What’s wrong with this Token?”
His mentor was clearly wounded by his memories, but Priam wasn’t going to wait for the bird to emerge from his melancholy. He had things to do, and time waited for no one.
“The Token isn’t the problem—you are,” the phoenix finally said without turning back.
What are you, my ex?
Priam recalled the earlier exchange between the bird and Jasmine and groaned. “Jumping six ranks between Bronze and Seraphic would damage my soul, right?”
“Or worse. Don’t make the same mistake I did.”
Priam's mind flashed to his previous upgrade of [Eidetic Memory]. He had almost died trying to handle power beyond his capacity. If even the System felt obliged to include a note to warn him, it was certainly necessary.
“So what do I do? Sell the damn Token?”
“A two-rank jump is already risky. With [He Who Eludes Death], you can try for three—no more. You need to get [Chimera] to Legendary rank before you use that Token.”
With a raging cry, Priam stood and hurled the Token back into the pool in frustration. “Fuck! What’s the point of giving me a useless reward?”
The phoenix finally turned to face him. “It was a reward meant for a Champion capable of contributing to the downfall of Bastard. Is that what you did?”
Priam froze. Only Sphinx’s sacrifice had made Sumstreh’s death possible, and he knew it. His sole achievement had been surviving a few minutes against the Fallen’s blind rage and wounding the first layer of his soul—a minor injury, given Sumstreh’s origins.
“I don’t deserve this reward.”
“Of course you don’t. The System likely intended for you to face Sumstreh at Tier 1, right before the second Reunion. With several months of preparation, the Token would have been perfectly suited to your progression. You were clever using Back in Time, but you will still have to work a bit to make the most of this reward. At least, you have a bloodline purification.”
“One of [Ace]’s Merits can boost [Chimera] to Silver,” Priam thought aloud. “I need two more ranks... The Colosseum?”
“Wave seventy-five will get it to Gold,” the phoenix confirmed. “As for the Legendary upgrade, starting your body tempering should do the trick. It will purify your draconic bloodline, which will compete with the phoenix one. [Chimera] will react to prevent an internal war, and with some Potential—and possibly a death—you should be able to stimulate its evolution.”
“Sounds like a plan,” Priam said, opening his Merits.

The addition of mind was a minor change in the description, but Priam could feel its impact almost immediately.

This was the kind of upgrade that could turn terrifying over time. While Priam was talking with his mentor, one of his parallel thoughts could analyze the situation from a different angle, solve a problem, or even practice manipulating ambient aether to boost his proficiency. A five percent increase in his effective speed of thought was more than welcome.
He was eager to begin his tempering and return to the Moon to finish upgrading [Chimera], but Kazuki's Tribulations would start in a few hours. In the meantime, Priam had decided to use his second reward. At least this one didn't have any prerequisites.
Focused on his Pyro Concept, he was sweating as the flames of a campfire licked the back of his hand. In the center of his palm, a ruby quivered. It was a drop of fossilized blood gifted by the System to purify his phoenix bloodline. The draconic one had been set aside since he only needed to devour his enemies’ hearts to stimulate it.
His mentor had revealed that the two most direct ways to purify his phoenix bloodline were to be reborn through Nirvana or absorb the Legacy Blood of a phoenix. The drop simmering in his palm fell into the latter category.
"Ow!"
Priam glanced over at Jasmine, who had just stuck her hand into the fire.
“I wanted to see if it was actually hot,” she explained. “You’ve had your hand in there for a while, and it still doesn't smell like cooked meat.”
Priam smirked but didn’t bother responding. Between his constitution and his Fire Champion physique, he no longer feared ordinary flames. His friends sometimes forgot just how resilient he was.
Heated by mundane fire, the blood droplet finally liquefied and seeped into his skin. It coursed through his veins, mixing with his own blood. A double beat from his two hearts sent the mythical substance pulsing through his body. A second beat tore a scream of pain from him: his blood was boiling!
Priam’s senses overloaded, and a wave of dizziness sent him toppling into the campfire. His head fell among the burning coals, but instead of pulling away, he sank into them. The heat embraced him, the crackling whispered in his ears, and the scent of ash filled his nostrils. Then, out of nowhere, two figures appeared, etched on an ember. The soul of the Fire Champion and the blood drop of the phoenix that stimulated his bloodline resonated together to recreate a scene.
“Consuming the ashes of our ancestors like a common cannibal... And I thought you had found a revolutionary way to stimulate our bloodline. What a fool I am. You’ve fallen low, Kelt—”
A branch snapped, drowning out the cursed name.
“What was the alternative? Marry my own descendants to prevent our bloodline from diluting further? Our clan is dying, and you know it.”
“That’s for Mother to decide,” retorted the visitor.
“Being an Immortal does not make her decisions any fairer!”
The Prince’s shout ignited a shower of sparks. Laughter answered him.
“Perhaps, but she has the power to enforce them.”
“If you would help me…” The anger had left the voice, replaced by a desperate plea.
“Help you?” A pause. “Even if I wanted to, these ashes are so charged with soul shards that they would poison any phoenix. I’m shocked you’re still alive.”
“I found a way.” A loud crack obscured the Prince’s whispered words as the fire collapsed inward. In the chaos, Priam caught only a single word.
“Depths.”

“Ah!” Priam gasped, breaking the surface. Cold droplets clung to his skin as he inhaled deeply, grateful for a breath. The swim had soothed the fire burning through his veins, and he felt great.
Climbing out of the pool, he quickly dried himself with Pyro and marveled at his new connection with the Concept. Reaching two percent purity in his phoenix bloodline had stimulated his affinity with all flames... including Pyro.

The bonus to his meta focus was a welcome boost to the aether flowing through his meridians, but it was the perfect affinity with Pyro that truly excited Priam. He was now just one step away from reaching Unity with the Concept, and he could already sense the path ahead. All he needed was a spark to light the way.
"Nice tattoos."
A hand touched his back, and Priam allowed Jasmine to trace the invisible lines etched on his skin. Two wings, each with thirty six feathers, were clearly visible to meta perception. All he had to do was infuse them with Pyro, and they would glow in the visible spectrum. With a single thought, he could deploy two tangible flight organs.

According to his mentor, Priam’s lack of legacy skills was the reason for the massive level-up. The bloodline had flooded his only available ability, imprinting it on his body by reorganizing key meridians.
“I like their effect,” Priam said, grinning. “This will become an ideal skill if I keep purifying my bloodline.” He would have to buy the final Merit for [Hatched Phoenix] to make that happen.
“Any idea how to do that?”
“The Colosseum,” Priam answered simply as he donned a robe of flames. All signs indicated he would soon visit Béchar to fight for a whole stack of new rewards.
“You gonna do something about your hair?”
While Concepts subtly influenced their users, bloodline changes were a lot more noticeable. Ever since becoming a Fire Sage, Priam’s hair had taken on fiery highlights. Now, his mood swings could cause them to shift from coal black to the blazing reds of embers.
“Nah, I like it,” he finally replied. “Is Kazuki ready for his Tribulations?”
“Got less than an hour left.”
“Enough time for you to tell me exactly what happened during the erased timeline,” interrupted the phoenix, landing on Priam’s shoulders. “I think you should start recounting your adventures from now on. If you had started with a story, I could have warned you about the Mythic Achievement.”
Priam told his adventures to the bird. The monologue was only occasionally interrupted by questions or Jasmine’s quips until, his throat parched, Priam brought it to a close.
“There were certainly better things to do, but it was a solid run.” Hearing an ancient phoenix use gamer slang was comical, but Priam held his smile. “There is just one problem. You said you unlocked [Radiation Resistance].”
“Yeah. Rare?”
“Not rare. Impossible. Not a single being in the entire sector Hope has ever accomplished that feat.”
Priam shrugged, a smug grin spreading across his face. “That's a word that's not in my dictionary.”
Rather than dismiss him, the phoenix stared at him before nodding. “That might be truer than you think. When I was still an egg, my mother often read me The Origin of the System—”
“She read to an egg?” Jasmine cut in, incredulous.
“Without it, I would have died of boredom,” the phoenix confessed with a shudder. "Being confined in an egg for a decade is unbearably dull; there’s not much to do except harmonize our soul with the flames.”
Phoenix parenting habits interested Priam far less than the System. “The Origin of the System…”
“A collection of tales. Probably the most famous book in this universe, partly because the author is a Dragonslayer.”
“Dragonslayer…” Priam savored the word. “That’s a special Title, right?”
Even the sound of it seemed to calm the aether around him. The very world acknowledged the magnitude of such an achievement.
“A Zenith rarity Title,” the phoenix confirmed, his voice thick with respect. “I’m talking about a true dragon, with an undiluted bloodline. A Tier 9 beast capable of terrorizing galaxy superclusters, each of its scales a supermassive black hole, and a single glance from his eyes can sire offspring.”
It was undeniably impressive, though Priam found it a shame to settle for just a glance to become a parent. That’s missing out on the fun part.
“What happened to the Dragonslayer?”
“He divorced his wife after she gave birth to a half-dragon—probably the motive for the kill—and then married the dead dragon’s mother, another Tier 9. He is quite the grudge holder.”
“I’m not sure if I should be horrified or impressed. Maybe a bit of both…” said Jasmine.
The phoenix shrugged his fiery wings. “Back to the tales, my favorite was The Juggernaut’s Epic. That name must ring a bell.”
“One of the shamans called me that—the ‘Smiling Juggernaut.’ What does it mean?”
“The adjective is premature, but as for the name… It is one of the archetypes of Champions summoned by the System,” the phoenix revealed. “I don’t know much more, but the Juggernaut is renowned for defying the impossible. It is the most famous and rarest archetype. That is partly why I picked you to kill my original.”
“Because thinking a Tier 0 could kill a Tier 6 is impossible?”

Priam smirked. “Deal. So, for [Radiation Resistance], I’m guessing it’s hard to obtain because radiation infects the aether of the irradiated?”
“Radiation corrupts all aether structures. Hypothetically, even if your cells mutate to resist it, the information wouldn’t be able to reach your soul... Receiving radiation prevents you from developing resistance, but it’s the only way to gain it. It’s a vicious circle.” The phoenix spat a ball of magma, a sign of deep agitation. “My clan, and others, have spent enough resources to buy a billion civilizations chasing that resistance—and failed!”
“Couldn’t they just buy it with Potential?”
The phoenix let out a bitter laugh. “Potential is well-named: you need a potential chance of unlocking a Talent or skill to create it. If you don’t meet certain prerequisites, it’s impossible. How did you do it?”
The bird seemed more rattled than Priam had expected. Even his resurrection ability hadn’t shaken it like this. Then again, it was a phoenix, Priam mused.
“[Homo Elysian Obsession] synergized with [Life Is Hard; I’m Harder] and its Merits to let my cells mutate. Then, I burned decades of my lifespan to speed up the mutation process. Out of the trillions of cells created, some adapted. With help from my add-on, draconic vivacity, and my mastery of aether, I protected their connection to my soul. I kind of died in the process, but I made it through.”
Man and bird stared at each other for a few heartbeats before the phoenix burst out laughing.
“A Juggernaut, alright,” it finally said, wiping away embers of mirth. “I was right—it is impossible.”
Priam shrugged again before an idea struck him. One that could make him very rich.
“Think I could sell the method to your mother?”
The phoenix considered it for a moment before shaking his head. “Aces are rare, and you need one to achieve [Ideal Aether Perception]—without that skill, you would never have been able to target the aether of your cells. Your racial Talent is absurdly powerful and helped bind your soul to your body's cells. So one would have to change a phoenix’s race to Homo Elysian to even attempt the experiment. The cost to purify their bloodline again would be astronomical. Not to mention your draconic vivacity—the bloodline would cause stability issues with that of a phoenix, and it’s nearly impossible to purge—and your add-on, a double-edged sword. No, you are and will remain the only one with this skill… and my mother will kill you if she finds out.”
Priam knew he wasn’t the only one in the universe with [Radiation Resistance], but he was clearly part of an elite few.
“Charming lady... Though, I was already planning to avoid her. She’s wanted me dead ever since you gifted me her bloodline, remember?” Priam quipped.
Two flames appeared by the phoenix’s beak, twisting into a cruel smile. “You are mistaken: before, she wanted you dead because of tradition. Now, she wants your head because you have the potential to surpass her.”
Rather than feeling threatened, Priam’s curiosity was piqued.
“Why?”
“Phoenixes are known for their flames, but some are too dangerous to cultivate. Because radiations prevent our resurrection, my mother had to wait until Tier 6 before she could cultivate within a star. It took her a thousand years to accept that she wouldn’t reach Unity with it; a facet of stellar power eludes her. You might succeed where she failed. You might master the Star Concept.”
The phoenix lifted his eyes, and Priam understood that it wasn’t this sky he gazed at, but the one of Elysium. Up there, the king of the phoenixes of this universe had become a sun.

I don't think Nebulae really fit with Pyro or mist. They are more of giant collections of dust and debris. And they don't really have a burning quality that would match with Pyro. I don't see Priam moving in that direction with his skills or concepts.

You all forget the mist concept, cosmic mist / dust clouds is where stars and planets form ( so his creation skill ).Fusion from pyro .And there is no heaven , the final death when a big enough star explodes ( incorporates the phoenix bloodline Nirvana ). And a white dwarf or a black hole remains...... And at the edges through the consuming power of the whole the next creation mist cloud is drawn near... The circle is complete.

Ideal poison Resistance should also improve his affinty with the corresponding Concept. And poison would synergize so well with his existing Pyro, Mist and Breath Concept. And I'm sure he can spin it in a "healing through poison" direction, which would synergize so well with his Hydra Title and budding doctor skills. Not to mention it would be great for the formation of a freedom concept later on. (I can imagine that Priam could actually start creating his freedom in his coming mental Tribulations, as there Theme seems to be his identity masks before the system and lack of freedom in being openly himself)

You know what makes a potential Hydra bloodline even more interesting? The Arm from the Snahert Tribe Chief. A Tribe that is build around Poison affinty and a corrosponding dragon bloodline. Which means he could potentially synergize his race with both the dragon and Hydra Bloodlines. It could also be that Hydra is just considered a Type of dragon and simply would strengthen his existing Dragon Bloodline.

I could see the Chimera trait of at least Silver becoming a default bloodline component of Priam's next race upgrade. It fits very well with his other racial traits. But what would he name the new race? Homo Aetherius is my vote.

Adding a third bloodline to an already crowded meta-genetic build is a crazy idea. . . It's perfect. Priam is all about doing the unreasonable and impossible, so it makes sense to add one more high lvl bloodline. It also fits perfectly with his poison body skill. Some forget that the Hydra of Lerna had a body so poisonous that just smelling it from a distance was deadly. Also, both the Hydra of Lerna and Yamato-no-Orochi have breath powers. Even King Ghidora from the Godzilla franchise has breath powers. Lerna is just poison breath, but Orochi had 8 distinct elemental breath powers, one for each head. So the hydra bloodline fits Priam perfectly on multiple levels in addition to being a variant of dragon, which he already has. It's a perfect fit.

For his final legendary skill lineup, I think kinetic control and moon mist is going to be a shoo in. I am hoping that tribulation hunter makes it to legendary so that he can use it for his fulcrum. Obviously it’s the best fit for his tribulation dragon bloodline. I hope Priam uses his revelation token to get its ideal upgrade perquisites. Adaptive golden meridians shouldn’t be too hard to upgrade with the ideal legendary kinetic control abusing his meridians. I don’t know whether he will have the opportunity to level the skill that much but ideal legendary free will would be a great capstone to round off his tier 0 legendary skills as a confirmation of Priam’s first step in his pursuit of absolute freedom.

I am also hoping he gets the hydra bloodline from the coliseum. Phoenix seems to think having dragon and Phoenix bloodlines with chimera is reasonable. Our Juggernaut should shoot for the unreasonable with a third bloodline. He already has a hydra title. He just needs a catalyst and it has insane synergy with his build.

I am guessing that Priam will use free will, fire champion physique, sun steel body, adaptive golden meridians, epic ideal poison resistance, merger of epic atomos and Kevlar tissue to temper his gates with the valarynth trophies and his tier 0 tribulations. If everything goes perfectly, he can temper legendary tribulation resistance with his high tribulation to ascend to tier 1. He can also use his potential to downgrade to get the ideal Aether manipulation right before triggering the high tribulation with domain 2 and use a tribulation reward to delay it until he can do the finishing touches on his meridians with the ideal skill just before capturing the high tribulation with his ideal legendary maybe unique tribulation resistance and a trophy from a tribulation generated draconic foe.

While Priam definitely follows the path of a Cultivation story protagonist pretty closely, Luc is following the path of a Rom/Com Isekai Fantasy Anime protagonist. . . And I love it. 😂 I think Luc has become my favorite character. I didn't realize Luc already awakened his Luck Concept. Makes sense. I wonder what his affinity lvl is. Probably 100% is my guess. I am very curious about the Luck Champion Physique skill and it's effects in and out of combat. Also, is there a Rizz concept? Because Luc is definitely about to awaken it. Priam is charming enough, but only in the way one would expect and only to those around his level. The way Luc is charming Lasha, an exceptionally powerful person even among other Tier-5s, when her options for companionship are pretty much whatever she wants, that's supernatural harem anime protagonist charm. Before she was only interested in him for the potential winnings, but now she genuinely wants him to win because she finds herself falling for his charms. At her age, she has seen every type of guy already. I think that's worthy of unlocking the Rizz or Charm Concept if there is such a thing. For example, even if Priam meets Empress Ayank and they develop a friendly working relationship, I don't see any way for her to develop that kind of interest in him. . . But Luc. . If he can do this to Lasha, I believe he could charm the Empress in a similar way if he wanted to. It's hilarious. ___ Looks like old Phoenix Sun probably managed to get Radiation Resistance at some point and had the right affinities to turn his body into a star. [Star Champion Physique]?. . . So not impossible. You just need to somehow be better than everyone else or cheat. lol. I like these developments. Just from the various resistances Priam had already collected, we could see that he would be progressing in a generally stellar direction. It's the natural combination and evolution of several of the resistances he has collected. It's a path that should actually go beyond Star and end in Black Hole. Radiation Resistance and Space Resistance would be the two most critical elements for it to reach that final step. As stars compress, they emit greater amounts of gamma radiation. A black hole can emit a gamma ray burst in a few seconds that is more powerful than the total energy our sun would emit in 10 billion years. Normal black holes do this somewhat randomly. . . but an individual who has raised their skills and concepts to mimic the properties could do this at will. Makes those tier-9 dragons even more scary thinking that every single scale is a super massive black hole. They could definitely destroy several galaxies with minimal effort with that kind of energy output. They could also just eat a galaxy as a snack. Speaking of tier-9 beings. That dragon Slayer dude has a messed up life. I hope Priam doesn't become like that when he reaches that level of power. But he should find a way to get the book. It seems worth reading.

The chimera part makes sense the magic mumbo jumbo will be figured out in time with Priam I don’t worry or think too deeply about that it just I feel like Priam doesn’t have a solid knowledge base, his system has gone through his memory and Priam seems to have some scholarly understanding of certain things, with pop culture and interesting facts sprinkled in. Priam became humanity’s champion not because he’s most knowledgeable and strongest human on the earth before the system came around but because he truly has the attitude ,mindset or what ever the you call it that the 7 seem best describes humanity and for Priam to be humanity’s Spear, i say that he has the strength at the moment it’s just he lacks a foundation of knowledge to build upon he has a lot of scattered knowledge and his system has probably fill in gaps and keeps track of many things if he had a knowledge base to work off of that would make it easy for Priam to extrapolate ideas and find creative and interesting solutions from humanity wisdom and blabbing to work off from idk that’s just me

Well he needs to do his tribulations as fast as possible before it increases. There isnt much more he can gain to prevent a stat from getting over the threshold. I totally forgot about the arena on the moon. I think at the rate his power would increase he could complete it. Also, we have to upgrade the tree with all of the items from the other timeline. I wonder because jasmine is Priam’s shadow, would she be allowed into his tribulations?

Race Upgrade will probably come after Chimera. The Chimera upgrade implies that his other bloodline/race based talents will see some sort of enhancement or increase in Synergy. Like how his draconic vivacity just got +5% for a silver chimera. I think he’ll be able to undergo a nirvana soon enough too, and shortly after, we’ll probably see him hunting the terrors. Each one will see upgrade his nobility and better his tempering. Every bit of progress Priam makes in this area furthers his ability to progress in others. The magic is stuff they’re already working on. The fortunate bit is that humanity’s accumulated knowledge isn’t irrelevant in this new setting. Priam will probably drop of a sample of his new genes at the first opportunity he gets. Maybe he’ll ask Bechar to hand it over to Prometheus.

That seems like a problem for potential currently. Maybe a system reward could remedy it. Or a colosseum one. Wish or something else. Tribulation reward too. I don’t think Priam himself has the expertise to manually secure and upgrade his system. Perhaps studying how the concept’s System works could help. The book that was mentioned, The Origin of the System(?) might be a great place to start

The plan for him to reach legendary chimera will see him becoming a monster in the process. In these same chapters, we’ve seen several hints about what the Zenith might entail. It’s presumably the last and highest rarity, which makes sense. Paths to the Zenith might be created, which again makes sense. None of the current ones have worked. It’s part of why the concepts are hosting this melting pot of civilizations. They want a greater diversity of talent. It’s probably presumptuous of me to say, but it’s starting to seem like Priam is gathering some of the tools he’ll use to forge his own path. The dragon’s bloodline, the pheonix, his own race, and his general adaptability that will soon be underscored by a Seraph grade Chimera talent. Currently, Arnold has a low chance of killing Priam no matter how hard he tries. Nukes (at range) and energy weapons aren’t particularly effective. If Priam progresses to the point where he matches Arnold in colosseum progression and begins tempering, all of that will only make him more of a menace.

Also, Priam is already a little monster. He’s collecting more and more useful abilities and talents. I’m sure that if he knew the dangers that radiation aether posed, he would’ve been less eager to endure it. After all, if it could mess with the resurrection of such a powerful race, who’s to say what it could do to his resurrection if he wasn’t so ‘prepared’ The Star concept thing still seems far away, but clearly Priam hasn’t been the only budding pheonix who has met the requirements to reach Unity. Though, I don’t think Priam’s met the more mundane requirements for skinny dipping in a star. Still, what happens if his radiation resistance synergizes with star steel body to evolve to legendary. Does the star concept give radiation powers? That’d make him a menace.

Good lord, there is some devastating potential here for future progression. Priam could theoretically achieve Concept affinity for Radiation along the way to Star, and combine those with Pyro and other similar Concepts in order to synergize and enhance them even further beyond their "ordinary" capabilities. He is, without a doubt, going to be an absolute monster beyond even my initial expectations. The fact that he has inherited a bloodline for both Dragon and Phoenix, he could possibly even hybridize those with further racial evolutions to make something new and more terrifying than either of them is, separately. If he somehow combines this with the Star Concept, becoming a Heavenly Star Dragon or something, I think he just wins.

Upgrade his race again with the help of other races like the trolls with regeneration or other races that can further the build of the human race, high human and homo Elysian , also maybe this is a bit selfish but when will Priam have the good total or at least a good portion of all human knowledge, it is a bit op but not really in the grand scheme of things in the multiverse as it shown how advanced technology wise other civilizations are like the hoplites and then their is the magic bull shit which Priam and the human race have no clue about and need to research and fuck around and find out with magic
