It's possible there's no sense of closure because most Jdramas do not have a second season unless the ratings are good. That's another thing to consider. :)

you gave me an idea! will review endings of different dramas nice way to get into some favorites again to check what this feeling is when the story comes to an end

Interesting how you view it as not an ending. I think the Japanese language and culture is very ambiguous at times. Sometimes you have to guess what the true meaning is when someone says something to you. They leave it up to interpretation many times and it makes you ponder. It's a very context-heavy language as well, so I think this adds to the ambiguity.

otsukaresama! was every episode curious where it would take me… only the end as in many other jdrama doesn’t feel like an end, the second-last also not really an end, but somehow more of an ending. anyone an idea why this happens or is a “western mind” ending different than a japanese end?
