Maybe this helped inspire "Go Diego Go!" I don't know, but the two boys appear to be the same age, and Diego was explicitly said to be eight years old.

I always come away from John Candy's work feeling like he was gone too soon. I mean, he was so cool, and it's surreal that he even got to do something like Camp Candy.

Cody's voice actor is amazing; he performed the Norwegian dub of the same role, but the performance he gave in English was so good that you would never be any the wiser.

Cody has to be eight or nine years old. I read that in one of those storybook adaptations, McLeach survives the fall only to be arrested.
