One of my all time favorite childhood movies. I think movies like this are important for children. The animals don't NEED to talk if you tell the story well and they knocked it out of the park. In my opinion, they could have even left out the narration and it would have worked just as well, especially with the songs doing a lot of heavy lifting. As a kid, I could tell EXACTLY what the animals were feeling and I believe it helped me develop emotional intelligence and empathy. A truly beautiful piece of media. (Also, it's weird to look back on now, knowing what I know about wild horses. A herd will only have one male (him) and a bunch of females. So, those two little guys would definitely be his and ALL of those horses would be his wives ๐ But they did a pretty good job of ignoring that and still putting together a believable love story! We can suspend disbelief and assume she is his one true love lol)
