I can't speak for the 80s when this movie was made, but in 2011 I was dissecting animals in my Advanced Biology class. We did frogs, rats, and even dogsharks. And let me tell you, I have NEVER forgotten the stench of dead formaldehyde-covered dog shark. It stays with you, man. But yeah everything was already dead when we got to it. A giant freezer between two science rooms held all of our stuff.
