He's also like 17. He got in his previous relationship by hooking up with the same girl at multiple parties. Give him 5 or 10 years to mellow out.

Sanairb

The change to their relationship discussion feels weird. Seems strange that he focuses on them having sex woth other people rather than just accepting that now isn't a good time to pursue a relationship and their partnership works better as friends. His comment about getting laid takes away from the emotional gravitas of the moment and kind of cheapens their relationship.

1) Just stating that the restrictions are being broken but not giving literally any proof of it is bad criticism. It's just complaining for the sake of complaining. 2) They literally had a chapter where they spent a few months hanging out and having fun, combine that with the fact that atleast from Matt's point of view, he finds Liz attractive, and they just spent a lot of close time in a very dangerous area. Those 3 things are grounds to breed attractiveness. They also had quite a few emotional moments together. 3) You obviously have misread the entire book. Sure orphans can become insanely wealthy in the story, but almost all of them die. The chance of death for a group with no skills is 50%. Matt also has the very lucky ability to be largely immune to damage of his tier. He can delve more and safer than most other people. They would be spending most of their money healing themselves which can cripple them. Which Eric/Dana said at the beginning. 4) The "ubiquity" of therapy? You mean exactly two people who have therapy. As well as the fact that these people are risking their lives on an almost daily basis, that these people have seen many friends die or become crippled? Have you ever heard of PTSD? Also therapy doesn't mean mental illness, sometimes it's nice to talk to someone who is not involved in the going ons. Just because someone is rich and has powerful parents doesn't mean they can't have issues with their life. Especially someone who never had actual friends, who most of their "friends" were just trying to cozy up for their parents. It just seems like you need to re-read the actual story because you obviously haven't. You also need to do some research into therapy in general.

Ok first off, I love treasure planet. And second, Stars in the night sky, is almost poetic as an image.

Some criticisms: 1) The Path seems like it is exploitable by the elite. This is reasonable as elites always game systems but a kid who’s parents were killed via elite corruption maybe shouldn’t be so blasé seeing how empty the supposed restrictions of the egalitarian Path actually are. Even if he is personally benefiting he should be uncomfortable or should be more cynical throughout. 2) show don’t tell. There is nothing about the couple’s interactions that show any spark of romance. No meet-cute. No tension. This makes these last few chapters read to me as less the culmination of anything so much as pro-forma must put them together. 3) tension in general has been gone for a while. The economics of your world building are broken. You basically have a poor orphan able to become insanely wealthy in the course of a few years. With immortality and predictable ways to acquire massive wealth it makes no sense that anyone works for crappy wages at tedious jobs. 4) the ubiquity of therapy rubs me the wrong way. It seems a method to make us pity the absolutely wealthy and powerful who rule via might. The girl isn’t a victim. Asking us to pity people with their advantages and social standing is off putting. Generally the romance is facile and pity for the poor lonely princess is a weak device. The underdog story you began with has now been utterly destroyed into a rainbow romance. Did you intend this?

Tjark

why would they do that tho?

Daniel Childers

I know it's not gonna happen or be real but what if the 2 who helped him earlier were her parents...

Daniel Staub

Yep. Her whole family is immortal, they expect that from their youngest who has yet to hit Tier 15 and become what they consider an adult. It has been hinted at a few times that this is a common belief among the powerful. No relationships in the team until after Tier 15.

tethra

Didn't think about this until awhile after reading the chapter but is it just me or has Liz been acting way more childish when she's around her family?

Justin

I can't remember any other story that's come close to dealing with therapy as a generally positive aid to help dealing with mental issues.

Alex R

It's not a hint. Its just what Aster believes since shes an ice fox.

Monadologist

I just want to say that I appreciate quite how wholesome this fic is about the concept of therapy just being a thing people do.

Storyhunter

Good beginning of issue work through chapters. Some where along the line her family is going to tell her she needs to let him know about the cold hint that his fox keeps broadcasting. This will likely be the test point for the relationship. Keeping something from him that would help him is real trouble. Especially if he has trust issues anyway.

Yashakami

This was pretty cool! I loved the way you introduced flying swords. That was awesome!

This is fun. I do hope that it passes a little more quickly than the last five month section - I doubt that staying in their brother's house is as narrativley significant as the training planet was.

Onathan

Especially with a tier 15 recharging stone. Assuming that's what they'll be using.

Mike G.

Good chapter, thanks!! I'll bet 5 months of mana sales would be a hell of a nice bankroll!

Obran

Up until now you've been working with a formula 1/3 advance story, 1/3 baroque look at your gaming system, and 1/3 battle or fight every chapter. Literally every chapter. I was getting bored and had been thinking about canceling my patron. These more plot-focused chapters have drastically improved the story. So kudos.

Obran

I have to admit that I have been enjoying these last few chapters.

william wallace

‘Sunday is sex day. Remember to line up early and drink lots of fluids. We don’t want a replete of last time, right Dave?’ Harem that size is more practical joke than anything else. The scheduling alone would require computer support.

Great chapter. A little strange about Liz's sister's harem, can't wrap my head around it unless the 100s of people was an exaggeration.

Dino

I like this

MoEl

I like how the story doesnt skip over meaning full carackter interactions and conversations, like in a lot of other storys, makes the charackter feel a lot more real

Stephen Pearson

Thanks for the chapter. Lot of feels:-)

Agreed, the story is fantastic but I have one small problem with it, the chapters go by so fast!!!

william wallace

I know. I had flash backs to when my younger brother visits.

Alex R

It was implied from the last chapter that they were developing more than just friendship.

Dan

Um.. was there attraction between those two? I honestly don't remember it coming up before. Not that I'm at all against it, just the opposite, but it seems to have come out of nowhere. Did I miss something? Can anyone point it out?

Stuart Dye

This story really has it all for me. The pace is perfect for such a large scale novel. Just thanks and keep writing :).

Bunny Waffles

Sweet~

Simon

Maybe that's what he sees his therapist about? :D

James Squibb

That chapter made me so incredibly happy. Thank you!!!

william wallace

Full author points for this one. Use them as you wish. Like the character development and the absurdity of high level living. Can’t wait to see what a t40 thinks is normal. Good to see the characters working to round out their lives with therapy/classes etc. Also; stop putting drugs in your chapters. Monday is a long way off. 😖

Lani

Good chapter! But Liz’s brother went from Travis, to Trent to Trevor.

Ann FItzgerald

I really appreciate how human the characters in this story feel. Super refreshing change of pace from most online stories.

Dj35

Cool

Matt

Those were some good feels.

Thomas Hill

First? “ I just really wanted to fuck with you.” Now that’s a real sibling interaction!
