Fortnightly Progress - 7th September
🕑 Added 2017-09-07 16:08:41 +0000 UTC Thank you all to those who stuck with me. Well aware that August was quiet in terms of progress and it's not something I'm at all happy about. Just go on the tumblr archive and just count the number of posts for August for a very clear example of why I feel it was a problem. Sure it'd look a lot better if I didn't delete livestream announcements, but I feel that would just be covering up that frankly not a great deal happened.But it did happen, can't go back and change it now, and I've got lots of exciting stuff I really want to talk about it so let's get into this.
- No Haven
After finishing writing the new slave training assignments for the last fortnightly I've now entirely finished writing all the new assignments. That includes the new rare City of Aversol assignment featuring the gorgeous Draki Maid commission, and a new common Ever Forest assignment with that commission that was supposed to be for the Draenei Farm but ended up working much better off for this one. There's also going to be a new rare Dreadsea Coast one which I think is just great and that people are really going to like, along with another common Ever Forest and an uncommon Great Plains both of which are Diplomacy ones. There's also going to be a new uncommon Great Plains one designed for dealing with troublesome slavers.
The other main thing I've got done which has been the mountain I've been struggling with all this update is the new reputation system. While I've known for as long as I've been working on the game that this is something I've wanted to include I wasn't entirely sure how it was going to work in practice.
This has not just been worked out but fully implemented in the game for the next update. You can exploit this to both dismiss and to enslave your slavers based on their reputation. As an unexpected bonus Spiritual Leaders now actually have some effect! Surprised me too, though it won't be their only use. So as not to make this section too long I'm going to fully lay out the new reputations at the end of this post.
You can also now value estimate your slavers as well as your slaves, and after starting it yonks ago and deciding to leave it at the time due to the old system being horribly time intensive I've come back to the removing assignments option. It's still fairly long to do but I've finished it off for all the Great Plains ones. I'll probably tackle the rest in the update after this one.
Going back to this update it will be out sometime this month, aiming for sooner rather than later. The next direction poll while also definitely be up before the next fortnightly.
- Commissions
In a nice bit of synchronicity yesterday I got two updates from different artists yesterday in the space of twenty minutes.
First was for the Demi-Angel in bondage commission for Package Retrieval I mentioned last time. The artist said 'roughly a week if all goes well' so that's sounding hopeful. The draft was great so I'm really looking forward to this one.
Thank you for the mental 100 votes in the last poll and the incredibly tight win at the top by 3 votes. I really had no idea the portraits options would be so popular. I might spread these out in the polls. Will consider.
As to the winners the Scout the Dreadsea Coast commission has not just been fully sorted but I've seen the final sketch already. So hopefully we'll be seeing that one soon.
In regard to the kitsune one I've done something I've not done before and gone back to a previous artist. Joix did such an amazing job on the Draki Maid one I asked if he'd be interested in another one given the similar themes. He's currently got a couple of weeks till his queue is open again but he loved the idea so this is looking probable. Just as I was typing this I got another email from him and you should see this at the end of October.

Time especially will usually be the time listed or up to an hour later though 10:30pm has been really working for me and I think I nailed on all of them last time. As promised now some notes on the new reputation system in No Haven which is going to work as two sets of low reputations with mirrored corresponding high reputations. There's also a couple of specific reputation which I'll get into after.
Obsessed Over > Desired > Alluring: Your slavers lust after them and want to see them brought down into abject slavery. Hard if not impossible to dismiss but increasingly easy to enslave. Increased by the rarer more valuable races, traits like Exc, Btf, Sed, Slutty, Debutante, being made a bed warmer (weekly check), doing some of the sluttier assignments that have others present like Word in your Ear, and failing regular assignments with those traits. Can reduce assignment odds based on the number of slavers present due to the distraction.
Dreaded > Feared > Respected: No one likes to be around them at that much, but are intimidated by them due to their power and/or exploits. Hard if not impossible to do anything against. Low penalty to a minor morale bonus for wounding/removal. Increased by successful Marauding/Corruption results, the more intimidating races like wrights, wisps and driders, and certain traits like Magic: Corruption, Terrifying, Onslaught, Dominator, and Were. Reduced by fail/disasters, and doing slutty assignments successfully with others. Can increase assignment odds while also potentially increasing the risk of disaster.
Pariah > Disgraced > Disliked: No one respects them all that much and don’t care to have anything much to do with them, apart from when they can be exploited and/or abused. Increasingly straightforward to dismiss/enslave. Low if not an actual morale bonus for wounding/removal. Increased by fail/disasters, accepting being a Camp Bitch (weekly check), and by traits like Loner, Sadistic, Unruly, Weak, and minority faiths (based on Spiritual Leader). Minor assignment penalty based on the number of slavers present.
Beloved > Popular > Liked: People get along with them, can give greater weight to their opinions, and for whatever reason most of the encampment likes to have them around. Hard if not impossible to do anything against. Higher morale penalty for wounding/removal. Increased by success/crits, and traits like Friendly, Leader, Cooperative, Healer, Tactful and the supported faith (based on Spiritual leader). Can provide a minor bonus to assignment odds based on the number of slavers present.
Unproven: Have recently been made a slaver. Impossible to do anything against as they need to be given a chance. Easyish to change to Liked by a assignment success/crit, more so with groups, or Disliked by a fail, Reduced morale penalties for wounding/removal. Minor assignment penalty based on the number of slavers present.
None: Nobody really has an opinion on them yet, and he/she’s just kind of there, y’know?
Owned: Is under the control of one of your slavers and so has no reputation of their own.
Owned refers to the slavers taken over by another slaver like with Nest of Vipers, Mistress of Torments, and with one of the new assignments which are going to work a bit differently as of this update.
Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. It'd be helpful as these explanations will need to be in game and I need them to be understandable.

Hey glad you're enjoying it! I am slowly replacing the more sub-standard artwork (though I'm more focused on the race examines as those have some of the worst ones) and as of the last poll I've opened up the possibility of doing portraits as commissions. Of course if there's ones that you think are specifically bad then let me know and I'll make it a higher priority to replace.

It's a bit sad that most of the Artwork for our Character are Ugly.. It's definitive ? Or you will change them when the game will be more advanced ? Beside that, It's a great game and I really Enjoy playing it !

I've been increasing the rating you can wear so now the only outfits you should be stopped from wearing is out right bondage with armbinders, manacles and mittens and the like. If that's not working and you have an example please let me know about it so I can fix it.

Sounds great. Also - I'm quite miffed that when I pick the maid/exhibitionist super baddie that there are some super wicked dresses with amazing features that I'm unable to use, just because they might give people a slightly "wrong" impression. Any chance of some day being able to wear them?
