Fortnightly Progress - 20th September
🕑 Added 2018-09-20 17:31:24 +0000 UTC Back from a week away which was lovely, and now I'm diving back into the fray.First though I've got to highlight that the Keldan fic based in the No Haven setting has got itself another chapter from the guy that came up with that race. You can find a link on the most recent post on my twitter.
Well worth a read, and I'm definitely looking forward to making it 'canon' as the kicking off incident that will lead to the first chain in the biomancy assignments.
- No Haven
For those that didn't see the edit I made to the last one of these I didn't quite manage to get out the public release including the needed fixes and debt effects before going away.
While much needed and the one chance to get out of the country this year it was disruptive to my efforts which is the one downside. On the plus side the debt effects slowed my down more than I expected due to me doing much more to flesh them out, and add a bunch of fun things to happen to your characters when you should be busy running an encampment.
Going to do my best to finish this so I can get the patron release out late tonight, and the public release tomorrow. Got some testing and a couple of thorny bugs that I haven't quite solved to do so touch wood on that.
Once that's done it's heading back into the September update proper which is due for, yikes, the end of next week. Wish me luck, I guess? Based on that I'd say it's likely that means that I should make the bimbo training and hypnotic mantra implanting the main highlight for the October update rather than trying to squeeze it into this one.
The discord assignment is approaching the final stages. As there's still plenty to discuss I may not start the last vote on this upcoming Monday, and might push it back a week to give people on there more time to contribute if they want to. Will see how things go.
- Whorelock's Revenge
Due to not having streams since the last Fortnightly nothing to say on this one.
- Commissions
There's going to be a small surprise in the next couple of days i.e. after I've got this public release out. As I said it's a small one, but I'm hoping some people will dig them, and it will let me add another option in the October update which is usually a plus.
In a much, much bigger commission if not without doubt by far the biggest so far I'm hoping to have seen some initial sketches for the true angel commission before the next one of these comes out.
Fair warning there may well be some hype-building gushing hopefully :D
- The Secret Project
Being away with just a tablet gave me a great opportunity to take another look at this. I'm very glad I'd given this a complete pass for a couple of months as coming back to it with fresh eyes I was able to identify some assumptions I hadn't realised I'd made that just didn't need to be included for this one.
I think the reworked mechanics are a lot more elegant compared to what they used to be.
As I'm back No Haven of course has to be the main focus. I am excited for the possibilities of the project though and ideally I'd like to at least have a demo version of what I'm doing on this for the Discord by the end of the year.
One lesson that was very much learned with the WR conversion is not to put out too little content too soon, so believe me, I'll be giving this a lot more polish before pushing it out into the wild. Same deal, when I start looking at the NH conversion work.

I've heard that one before and believe that to be a generic RAGS issue. I'm guessing you're either saving and/or loading when you shouldn't as per warning at the beginning of the game, or are loading a save from a previous version.

Bug still present in newly-released public version: on loading a game, slaver and slave names are just "Slaver 1," "Slaver 2" and so on until something about them changes e.g. they return from assignment or recover from a hangover and no training assignments are available for any slaves already held.

Yes, though I'm planning that to be more later game content when you get more infamous and various parties start taking an interest in the location of this overly successful encampment.
