Could he have been elected to represent his home region of Centrum originally and then later appointed to Fleet Admiral?

Schadows Shade

Amazing Episode! Had me captivated from beginning to End!

Erik Uriarte

I'm interested to learn more about the government of Centrum, specifically how the CinC and active duty Naval Officer is able to be an elected official. Is this a tradition that goes way back? And how are things like conflict of interest, separation of powers, and subordination of the military to civilian government are handled, given that the CinC and PM are in different parties? Or is this by design?

peak has returned

Gotta love bringing the former British Speaker in to do British Speaker things

Cuberay

Loving the british parliament vibes in the beginning! 😂 Continuing strong with some twists I didn't expect. Still one of the best scifi Shows/Audio Dramas currently running.

Tango Rock

yep

I was able to listen to this shit standing out in the fucking sun burning with barely good data connection while my boss yelling at me but it was so worth it

Yep. You've got to love the political drama side of things, and legislative debates like that are a big part of it. I couldn't help but be reminded of the Senate scenes from Star Wars; and no, it is not just because of the "Ordah! We shall have Ordah!" bit.

Kurdrey Williamson

I love hearing parliament bicker back and forth.

WB Yeats reference?

Having Dom Keating in this is such an amazing addition. I missed him during ENT. I'm glad he's doing VAs. Also I love the Parliament scene. Too bad you couldn't have John Bercow say, "ORDAH"

Mekhai Edwards

I can't hear the episode is this a glitch others are expirencing?

Gus Davidson

Allright, the new season looks like it is off to a good start. A couple of notes... First off, the situation in Tantalus. It looks like the Advari have sent a few Lightships to Tantalus and are engaged in a blockade of Edric's Gate to keep humanity out of the Sanctum. The nations of Tantalus have assembled a coalition force to keep an eye on them, and so far, there has not been any shooting actions thus far, though I expect it is only a matter of time. My guess is that the Advari Blockade is only a stalling tactic for Cardinal Arvanis to build and crew enough Lightships to launch a campaign of extermination against humanity. The Centrum Parliament seems to be paralyzed right now, with the current Prime Minister hoping that by holding out, they might be able to establish a dialogue. However, the food brought back by Avalon has only bought a little bit of time, and calls from the Warhawks in the Civic Formalist Party are only growing louder. Fleet Admiral Darius Farren seems to be using the opportunity to try and seize the big chair, and is fully on board with pursuing a campaign to assault the Sanctum in order to give Tantalus the supplies it needs. To that end, he is reaching out to his erstwhile daughter, Cassandra. The Guinevere has seen better days, and so has her crew. Elizabeth has been barred from speaking in Parliament as a result of her failure as Director of the Expedition, and is feeling frustrated by the inability to help either with the crew or with humanity in general. Cass seems to be going through the motions, and has grown bitter from her inability to do more while also being desperate to avoid confronting her father, even when he offers his resources to help both her and her new family. While they've managed to stave off having to accept his offer for now thanks to some work that they might get in Firewatch and help from Elizabeth's father, I fear that it is only a stay of execution, based on the titles of the next two episodes; particularly that of Render Unto Caesar. Stormclouds are brewing, the Tantalus Cluster sits upon the edge of a knife, and war is on the horizon. Our heroes are broken and limping, and they may just have to make a deal with the devil if they hope to survive, let alone improve the situation for their fellow man. Looking forward to the next episode; until then, Fair Winds.
