I mean, that sounds defensive for something that they are just warning against. They aren't saying you're going to hell if you do DMT. My family came out west, as they were LDS and were raped and pillaged from their homes. I know a lot of my family history, my family stories, and let me tell you, it really puts our modern cozy life into perspective when you hear about "So and So" who had to dig 6' into frozen dirt, to bury all 13 of their children, because they died of dysentery, or exposure to the elements, or starved to death or fell victim to an Indian raid. I am so grateful to have these stories because when I feel like my life is bad or I'm struggling or stressing out about work, I can think of my ancestors who literally fought the elements, religious persecution, indigenous peoples, wildlife, sickness and disease, or starvation, all for a chance at a better life for their family. I draw so much strength and inspiration from those stories. I am extremely grateful to God for all the comforts our modern life provides us. Sure, my ancestors didn't have to deal with nearly as much evil in the world as we do, but I sure am glad that I don't have to walk a 1/4 mile to an outhouse, in the dark of night, with only a lamp and a prayer to light my path, only to sit down on a 'toilet' seat that might give me splinters or have critters on it, to then have to wipe with a Sears catalog, some moss of a rock, an old corn cob, a handful of grass or to have to scrounge up some leaves from a nearby tree(heaven forbid you grab some poison ivy in the dark). Anyways, all that to say, I know you guys aren't fans of the LDS(mormon) church, so it means a lot that Josh shouted us out when he was talking about who helper conquer the west. I also thought I would let you guys know you're my favorite podcast. No one else even comes close. Keep it up! I think you guys are killing it!! My favorite part of every episode is the "Gas-lighting of lily".

In the last 9 months of 2022 I lost 30lbs by doing very little: 1. I quit drinking a ~6pack of Coke every day, 2. I started drinking Field of Greens superfood each AM, and 3. I started walking my dog for 30minutes each morning. I did nothing else! Never went to a gym and haven't run since college years. The past 3 years I've felt more healthy than at anytime this century! I think the weight loss is due to the cutting soda-pop and walking, but the FoG probably has a bigger impact than I give credit. (Field of Greens is costly, but I really was drinking a twelve pack every two days, so it's probably saving me money the way Coke spiked their prices.) Don't wait till age 60 to get a bit more fit. Take care young friends.

Ayahuasca last for 12 hours sometimes,.... you've talked about it a lot but don't have very good information on it. It' IS DMT, extracted from the root of mimosa trees and they combine that with a plant that has an maoi in it and boil them together to make the drink called Ayahuasca. NM-DMT or 5-MEO-DMT is what people smoke and it only lasts for a few minutes like you talked about. Certain variations lasting longer, and having different effects. Also, it's said that DMT is being released as you are having your most vivid dreams,..... like lucid dreaming, etc. Idk if that's true or not though. lol. Like Josh said, they'd have to test a living person and it'd probably be pretty invasive surgery just to be able to monitor that. Who knows, but I'm sure they will do the research. Anything to get us closer to being able to be put in a state that we feel like we're existing, but actually we're just laying in a bed/pod. lol. Reminds me of the scene in Inception with all the people hooked up to the machine in the basement and the man says they come there everyday,.... not to dream, but to live.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong on this, but the consensus about psychedelics in general is that they are a back door into the spiritual realm/dimension and that basically leaves you vulnerable to dark entities, spirits, powers etc. And because we’re all sons and daughters of Yahweh we can have knowledge or our connection to him that those things want to know or exploit. I've never done DMT but have used mushrooms, peyote, MDMA, and liquid Jesus acid. DMT scares me. Hated acid. Loved MDMA. Talked with my mother through esp on mushrooms and had a whole conversation with God. Don't remember peyote but wouldn't be opposed to try again.
