On the day of the crucifixion, each of them felt a distinct responsibility to bear witness. Both of them deep in their own feelings, knowing they have each other to hold on to. In the end it was Crowley who would be struggling to get back on her feet.
I've been meaning to draw a piece inspired by the crucifixion scene we see in the show and I always missed the Easter month π But this year I got it! So just in time for easter, you're getting a crucifixion painting without Jesus even on it lmao I'm genuinely not religious so it was a real struggle for me to decide how to go about it. We had a whole discussion about how long he must have hung on the cross and whether I could even depict a nighttime scene. But I've decided that even if they had taken the guy down again by nightfall, maybe our ineffables are so in their feelings, that they just remain where they've sat down in the end.
I believe that completes my series of paintings inspired by a minisode/cold open scene! Wahoo! π

I've been looking at this since yesterday. It's the moment in the show that you realize however farcical the story you've been watching so far, it's about serious things, about the way people behave to each other and the things humans routinely value over simple kindness and compassion. And, of course, attribute to an invisible Sky Parent who never shows up. "That'll do it every time." You caught their grief exactly.
