He didn't notice when the revolver was... borrowed. He didn't notice a kilo plus of metal not being in his back pocket. He didn't check before the 'meeting'. And he thought that actual real gangsters would be impressed by a teenage punk with a revolver. He's way past being stupid. It's a pity that girlfriend is going to have problems because of him. To be sure, she really should have picked a smarter boyfriend.

Actually, looking at the comic again: while Ricky may be in trouble, I suspect that were he still in possession of that pistol, he would be in MUCH MORE trouble. I would bet these thugs are used to having young punks thinking firearms are magical force-field projectors.
