I'm not gonna shut down the Patreon. I'm just gonna make a few changes :)

First of all, I just wanted to say that I was seriously blown away by all your responses on the last post. Big ol massive THANK YOU on that. It REALLY gave me more perspective on the Patreon and made me realize that I've kinda been looking at it all wrong.
The biggest takeaway from all your comments was that you guys aren't necessarily throwing money at me expecting anything in return- you just want to support what I do because you love it and jesus christ that's so nice.
Basically that Patreon is more of a nice way to give me a monthly tip rather than a "hey I gave you money so WHERE THE FUCK is my thing?!!" type of deal. it's not fucking Kickstarter haha. Thank god for that.
So with that being said - I've decided what I want to do going forward. I'm going to keep the Patreon up, but some things are gonna change:
1) I'm not gonna give myself any grief or guilt when I'm not frequently uploading videos. If you want to support me because you think it will make my uploads more consistent - THIS IS THE WRONG PATREON TO SUPPORT. I'm just gonna do what I do and I strongly encourage you to pledge or unpledge knowing that info. Dog bless and thank you again.
2) I plan on doing some sponsorships in future videos because they can be suuuuuper good opportunities and there's plenty of things that I could/would do with the money.
But also full disclosure - I really don't want to do any ads at the beginning of vids. Hell no. Always just something at the end, similar to when I plug any new dumbass merch I've made (speaking of which, I'm currently cooking up some more dumbass merch)
3) I'm gonna change the rewards. Specifically the Discord channel.
I'm gonna be straight up with you guys: the Discord channel is just too big for me to manage now. The mods are doing great- don't get me wrong. And the server isn't going anywhere. I'm just no longer going to have it be a reward on Patreon.
A lot of you OG Patrons know that although I pop in from time to time, I don't spend as much time in there as I used to. Which I feel bad about, but that's because I just have more shit going on now and it's hard to feel like I'm staying on top of everything.
And that is absolutely NO reflection on the people in there now. There's a lot of really great people in that server and I know a lot of friendships have been made in there which is so wholesome. Love that shit. But the fact remains that there's just sooooo many people in there now and it can be overwhelming.
And I no longer want to tie it to the Patreon as a reward because simply put: it's just not the same place anymore. And that's okay- I'm not going to delete it or anything but I also don't want people pledging money to my Patreon just to gain access to something that shouldn't be behind a paywall. You feel me?
So the server will stay up, but I'm no longer going to advertise it on Patreon. Current mods will stay mods and I'm going to mostly leave the server's future in their very capable gamer hands.
BUT ALSO - I'm going to grant current members the ability to invite new people to the server so that it can continue growing and evolving. Also, I mean I'm not going anywhere. I'll certainly still be a member just so I can continue posting cringe in chat ewwwwwwww ;)
Also everyone will get the tunes for free now. $1 tier and $5 tier. Shabooyah role call.
So yeah. Nothing is actually REALLY changing but I just wanted to be transparent about everything with you guys. Seriously can't stress how blown away I was by the comments on that last post. Good god you guys are all such generous gamer lords.
Working on a really really dumb video right now. I feel great about it.

Dude that's dope, I think this is all just great decisions :) One thing though: I've been a patron kinda on and off, and while I used to be a member of the discord server i sadly am not anymore because of the aforementioned on/off patronage, sooo I'm wondering if I could pretty please get a discord link before you send it off to the shadow realm or whatever, that'd be tight :) I totally get it if you can't make exceptions that's fine, but it would be kinda cool.

Kinda skimmed this because of multi-tasking, but good shit Jakey. I like the approach you are taking. PS: Fallen Order was great, I finished it this morning. My only complaint is that the game felt like it did not know how to end, but at least there was no cheap sequel baiting and they kept it to open to practically any sequel they want to make.
