Personally, I would have Hadrian marry a Manderly or Karstark. Say that to marry outside the North would be suicide for the lord of House Stark.

I'm am really interested in the perspectives from Dorne and the Reach on all that has developed so far. Maybe just the from Queen of Thorns as of now, given how the faith miltant has really kicked up the hornets nest. Also, I freaking love the idea of Stanis doing a full 180 at break neck speed and becoming pro North and supports the Old Gods. That is, of course, depending on how Harry plans to plays his cards. Given how Harry has thrown a wrench into everyones plans, I can honestly see a potential point in the distant future where the north decides to back Stanis's claim for the iron throne instead of seeking independence. Anyways glade to see ya are still kicking and getting back into the hang of things.

good episode I hope new episodes will come soon.

I agree that outright rejecting the marriage would have been a mistake. By not responding and allowing them to think he has accepted allowed the North to make moves with less suspicion. But the whole idea of the Crown not allowing him to marry and secure his lineage in order to wait for a baby to grow up is ridiculous. Especially since he is the only Stark left from the main line. So if and when he does marry someone else he should not bother telling the Crown until he is already married. Let them try to make a big deal out of it they won’t come out looking good having tried to stop a Lord Paramount from securing his line just to try and give the Lannisters power in the North.

I'm sure Harry could easily find a way out of it legally. The idea that he has to wait for a baby to blossom into womanhood to produce an heir is indeed an outrage. In a medieval society like this, most lords marry young, and Harry isn't just any lord, he is a high lord of a Great House. By the time Myrcella is old enough, he'll be pushing 30. He shouldn't be expected to wait that long to secure his lineage. Maybe the Old Gods allow multiple marriages? In any case, I'm sure Harry has a plan, but right now, he can use the betrothal to his advantage. The betrothal will certainly give him more leeway. If he rejects a Royal Marriage to a Princess, it will raise more than a few eyebrows and make him some enemies, and with him building up Moat Cailin, designing fleets, fortifying his lands, and bringing Children & Giants into his lands, people will inevitably question his loyalty & intentions, and they willl seek to either destroy him or reign him in. It would also alienate King Robert, the Starks' biggest supporter in the South. Robert's brotherly love of Ned and his infatuation with Lyanna can keep enemies of the North in check. Ultimately, it won't matter anyway. By the time Myrcella flowers, Harry will probably be the Winter King in the North. Of course, nobody really jumps out at me for him to marry instead. Maybe Dacey Mormont or Meera Reed? Margaery Tyrell doesn't really benefit him, and as much as I like Arianne Martell, no way she wants to give up her future as ruler of Dorne. Aside from them, there is always Daenerys. I guess she offers him the most because of the dragons, but there are a whole host of problems that would need to be dealt with for Harry to marry Dany. Ditto for Val and the Free Folk, but I don't think Harry cares for the wildlings, even the good ones. So long story short: Harry probably isn't worried about marriage at this moment. He's an adult in a child's body anyway. I would, however, like to read Harry's thoughts on the matter. Aside from a small twinge of annoyance, we have not seen anything from him.

By what right could King's Landing possibly demand that Hadrian turn over his new subjects or have them killed? Such a move would forever destroy House Starks reputation and integrity. You don't give orders you know won't be followed. Besides why should Hadrian be punished for accepting their fealty? Nobody would make a fuss if it were humans. As for the Faith and it's rabid fanatics, especially the corrupt High Septon? They can complain and spew their hatred all they want, they will still eventually die in their inevitable march North.

Richard Alvarez

When did he agree to marry Myrcella? They just sent him an order to marry Myrcella and assume he will listen. He should marry a Northerner as soon as he is of age then send the Crown announcement of his marriage after the fact. Tell them how stupid they were if they thought he was ever going to allow House Lannister a foothold in the North

Great chapter! I’m glad we were able to see how some people in the south are reacting to what Hadrian is doing. I hope that the next chapter continues on that same line of things, since it would be interesting to see how more people react as well. Like the Queen of thorns, and house Lannister.
