New Year, Same Me

I'm starting the new year with a few new projects, and wanted to update you on those and talk a little bit about the last phase of the silkworms, and what happened. We'll return to silk soon-ish and work with the silk that was produced in a few fun ways, for now though, we're back to knitting.
Today I talk a bit about swatching, probably more to convince myself than you, and it worked, today I'm (sort of) happily swatching away.
The sweater I talk about in the little video is the Field Sweater, and the KAL starts on the 7th of January but lots of people taking part will have different paces. The yarn I'm using is Lexington - but you don't have to use that one for sure, there's a million good choices. We'll be chatting about it in our Strung Along Ravelry group, and you're welcome to join and hang out if you want to, and also posting about it on the @strungalongllc instagram, if you're more that type. (You can do this even if you don't care about Strung Along Retreats, they're pretty separate for the purposes of this KAL.)
Last, I'll be checking in with the project often here, amongst other plans, so you can do none of those things, and not knit the sweater and and still get lots of knitting tips and tricks.
Whew, and off we go! New Year, same me. Do you have knitting plans for this year?

Have you checked out the patterns of Anna Johanna (Where we once knitted)? She designs round yoke sweaters with short rows in the back and lots of her patterns have instructions for adding bust darts if you need more room in the front. I find her patterns to be well-fitted!
I would love to know more about making yoke sweaters fit - I think a lot of them cheat by having wide necks which are low at the back. Is there any formula for adding short rows to make a better fit?
Would love to learn about steeking in sweater construction. I’m feeling brave at the start of a new year!
