To get it to stop the girlfriend takes the boyfriend into a broom closet where she tries to make him cum so his sexual thoughts calm down. To the bad writer in me this is a complicated question! Obviously, the mind drifts to celebrities of one kind or another. My natural instinct is to let them be aware as that's my preference in stories. But then, I think, they'd certainly disappear from the public eye when things got good. If everyone but them were aware then they'd probably find themselves locked away, considered mad or at least ill before long. So, if slow, for 'realism' I'd have to be the only one aware so that they'd go about their business giving me years of enjoyment. If fast, definitely aware and very well documented.
