You know the thought did cross my mind. Behind the scenes answer: I originally wrote it as happening in an office (and Robyn's job was as an office peon) so having him bust in to her office wouldn't be weird. However this felt a bit similar to previous works 'Perks of the Job' and 'The Meeting'. Making it take place in a diner gave a new flavor to the formula and gave the (personally enjoyable) chicken breast repartee. She could've been doing the checking herself in a joint employee lounge, or a small manager office, but it just clicked for me when I set it in the bathroom. In universe answer: Man runs an understaffed busy diner! He's got no time for luxuries like "personal space" and "law mandated privacy"!
