Ruby Ridge

On August 21, deputies of the United States Marshals Service (USMS) came to arrest Randy Weaver under a bench warrant for his failure to appear on federal firearms charges after he was given the wrong court date.[1] The charges stemmed from Weaver's sale of a sawed-off shotgun to an undercover federal informant, who had induced him to modify the firearm below the legal barrel length.[2]

When Cecil started his question, I paused the audio and tried to think of my own fascist pastry. The best I could come up with was "Eva Braunies."

I feel like parking ticket jokes are frequently overlooked as the meaningful social commentary that they are. I recently had to pay over $400 to prevent my city impounding (and potentially auctioning) my car over two $70 parking tickets from a DECADE ago which they'd never sent me any other reminders of. 🫠
