A question about S&F Extra
I was wondering... do you all like getting all the S&F Extra content in one giant monthly post? I have been wondering what people would think if I switched to more of a "blog style" format... that is, posting pieces gradually throughout the month in their own individual posts. (Similar to how I post the Saucy Hippo content.) Would that be fun, or do you prefer the giant once-a-month post? Let me know what you think!
Poker Night
This piece was a commission for a Kickstarter backer! I really had a lot of fun with this one. I'm particularly fond of my solution for how, exactly, Mr. Rexford would even be able to look at his own cards. (But how will he drink that scotch? We may never know.)
Sin Grinch
Here's an alternate version of my Grinch piece! Originally, I thought I'd give it a background in the style of the ones used for the animated special. But in the end, I decided I just really liked how it looked on white.
In the gallery above, I've included the original Chuck Jones art that I based my parody on. I've also included my original black-and-white ink-on-paper drawing! As you can see, the original drawing was actually cropped off the side of the page, much like the Chuck Jones original. After scanning the art, I drew the rest of the tree in digitally before I coloured it.
I suppose this Grinch piece is one more piece of original art that I can add to my art sale, if anyone is interested!
Rock Band & Dev's Puppets
Here's two alternate marker-coloured versions of pieces I posted earlier! In both cases, I went back and colored the original black-and-white line art with Copic markers, so that the buyers could have a full-colour original.
Yoga Gert
The comic has said that Gert is supposed to be insanely flexible, but until recently, I think the craziest pose I've actually drawn her in is just doing the splits. So I thought it might be a fun exercise (and good figure drawing practice) to try drawing her in some crazier bendy/contorted poses. A backer suggested I try some yoga themed drawings, so I drew this one!
Originally, I thought I might save this piece for the Saucy Hippo tier, but in the end, I figured it was sufficiently appropriate to just post here. I mean, it's just yoga! (Even if there is a lot of booty.) But if I wind up doing any racier variants or poses, I'll share those on the Hippo later.
Baker's Tar
This piece was also a commission! The commissioner asked me to draw something that revealed what Baker's subconsciousness would transmute the tar into. I think Baker's interests are very pure and uncomplicated. His innermost desire is just to finally know... is it food?

I will probably keep doing it as is! I think it's my personal preference, and everyone else seems to like it as well, so why rock the boat? haha

Honestly, I've been enjoying getting the magazine in a batch. Gives me more of a bite instead of a nibble sometimes, and I like comparing the different pieces. That said, it really does show when an artist enjoys what they do, so whatever you'd prefer is probably what I'd prefer.

Patreon expanding their post features was a big draw, for sure! But to be honest, the main reason I moved away from the PDFs was because I found them really frustrating to make. PDFs require that ever page had to be exactly the same dimensions, which made it difficult to fit all the different-shaped artwork. And of course, they don't support animated GIFs. Using a browser based gallery or Dropbox makes it a lot easier to share different types (and shapes, haha) of material.

In all honesty, I preferred the pdf you released when you first started doing the S&F Extra. I assumed you stopped because Patreon made it easier to post in long form like you do now. Maybe if you showed off the works in progress throughout the month and the finished product at beginning of the next month, that'd be a good balance. Also: Yoga Gert!
