Failures

I was reading about failure. I think we know intellectually that failure is supposed to make us stronger and that we have to fail a lot to succeed. My problem always comes in the middle of failure, of course, because it doesn’t feel good while you go through it. Somehow no matter how much you can intellectualize it, it doesn’t change how you feel in the moment.
I liked what Rick Warren said:
God uses failure to build your character. Failure has a way of softening your heart. It helps you grow up and become mature and makes you sensitive to others. It makes you less judgmental and more sympathetic to people around you who are hurting.
Failure doesn’t automatically grow your character. It only builds character when you respond to it correctly and learn from it.
I pray to have a better perspective in all the little daily “failures” and the bigger ones that come my way.
“A man who refuses to admit his mistakes can never be successful.” Proverbs 28:13
Somehow we feel like admitting our mistakes will make us look weak or incapable. I think it makes us more relatable and God uses that humble heart to not only grow us but others.

I love how God does that. It seems like we have to come to the end of ourselves in order to really BE ourselves, the way God intended. Painful but worth embracing

Failures are lessons. God loves lessons. God loves us. God uses failure lessons to move us into our destiny. We need to see Gods love and plan in our failures. This was a hard thing for me to learn. I was always hard on myself concerning my failures. About 25 years ago I had to let go of my abusive self punishment when I was failing in a large project, The stress and doubt almost killed me and cost me my marriage and family. Once I let go, God used the time to love and heal me. From then on I’ve learned to trust God in the process. I still strive for excellence but I trust my Holy partnership to guide me, and be with me when I fall short.
