Anxiety Antidotes Part 1

Our pastor had a wonderful sermon and I took copious notes. At first the topic of Anxiety seemed like a good one, but I wondered if anything different would be brought up. Of course, he had much to say that made me think!
One of the points he made is how the word anxious in the original language is a compound word meaning “to care” (excessively). The root word means to divide the mind.
Isn’t it interesting how anxiety divides the mind?!
However, emotions are God-given. But they can be used to serve a positive or a negative purpose. Positive when they motivate us to change, surrender and pray. Negative when they divide our minds and make us feel pressure and paralyzed.
I will continue with this topic this week, but one antidote that he reminds us of is to worship over worry.
Deuteronomy 20:4 ….for the Lord your God is He who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.
