how do we dehumanize another person?
I will go first: I think itβs when we reduce someone down to one thing/one aspect of them/see them superficially
how do we humanize another person?
I would say to look at them as our Creator sees them- all of who they are
What do you say?

We dehumanize one another by not recognizing they make mistakes just like we make mistakes. We humanize a person recognizing we are all sinners saved by grace.

Dehumanizing someone happens when we attribute characteristics and actions to them that are beneath our standards and values. We appraise their value to be beneath our own. The problem is that our standards have no virtue on their own. It's only when we align ourselves to the heart of our creator do our values gain any virtue. In Him we only desire to validate humanity, to help elevate the world around us. To validate someone's humanity I've found that when you talk with them always be sure you are at the same eye level and always look them directly in the eyes. Seek first to understand before being understood. Be compassionate, kind and show great empathy. All attributes of God's virtues bestowed on us.

I did not know these explanations but I agree with them.
