I don't think pirating games makes publishers think "they're boycotting us", it makes them think "clearly those would have been paying customers had our DRM only been better"

Solid advice! Did you purposefully not go as far to suggest pirating games made by unscrupulous publishers? It seems like the next logical step but I can also imagine youtube giving people shit for suggesting that. Happy new year!
