Why dont you look around the surrounding to see if there are any gemstones or elements that those gems might require, the book said that it's not for children so most likely a adult is required to find them. (red gem fire green gem earth or wind blue water or cold yellow light or speed, if none works trying singing to it to open it may require a beautiful song.

Try to figure out why the color of the chains change. Maybe it's something to do with touching the correct two gems at once. Or maybe by making a connection between the two peaks with your body.
