(EARLY ACCESS + AD FREE) How's a Guy Supposed To Work Like This?
🕑 Added 2023-10-12 14:00:05 +0000 UTCBack in the swing of things and a short break from the shop made me realize how much I've been putting off! So time to address MANY issues in the shop. Including the BIGGEST one of all ;).
Enjoy!

Thank you, Sir!

this latest video is comforting and a great insight into how your brain organizes things. Cable and hose management in it's highest order. Bravo!

I'll be honest I have a lot of those sort of random groups of items too (plumbing, electrical, etc.) and how i have them could use a lot of work 😂 With the shop I game myself permission to remove anything that wasn't strictly necessary to be there in the first place. So you've got your work cut out for you haha but sounds like you have a clean slate!

I am sorry for saying this, but I think this is my favorite video of yours 😂 watching everything get cleaned up and organized gives me a little bit of that feeling of rearranging your room as a kid too. Especially potent for me right now since I'm in the middle of doing exactly the same thing in MY garage - I realized the other day that I've been living out of a portable stacking tool chest - which honestly has been great for what it was - since moving out of a condo, and now that I have an honest-to-god garage, I can buy a REAL tool box to put things in! Now the problem is trying to figure out how to organize tools and materials for wood working, small electronics, plumbing, low voltage, electrical, and specialized tools like a flooring nailer lol

Wouldn't be long before they were brown again with dust 😉

Oh I'm defintiely crying 😂
Rob
Perhaps you'll be in the mood to brighten the shop up with some white paint sometime.
Creehan
I'm not crying YOU'RE CRYING 😭 Thanks again for the great video
Brandon Sander
Thanks, Mike! You can always just pick away at it one square foot at a time :)
Brandon Sander
I've done exactly this but with microsoft excel. My wife's idea when we first moved the shop!
Brandon Sander
Thanks man. Yeah just stick with it. It will be worth it all in the long run
Brandon Sander
I can't even imagine trying to do any of this in a smaller space. You've got your work cut out for you ;) Thanks as always man. You're gonna appreciate the next video...

;)

Thank you sir. Beards tend to do that when left unchecked ;) That one was a long time coming. They all were. But defintiely that.
Brandon Sander
Thanks Pierre :)

I can guess the result haha

Oh, I know you're at least done with this phase, but one of my old tricks is to make scale paper footprints of all the equipment/furniture in the room, then play Tetris on a sheet of paper with a scale room outline. It lets you visualize space and workflow using more time and less muscle. Especially good for new equipment or facilities you don't have on hand yet.

Wonderful video, and the drawer dance (don't give me that look), Pocket Reference, and Machinery's Handbooks really take me back. I forgot about that pocket ref. Also makes me sad about the state of my shop.

your vids have seriously been a joy to watch, because as a fitter/machinist apprentice i find myself doing apprentice things, (aka not the job im training to do) especially painting since im good with a paint gun. your vids help me realise that my trade will take me longer than in the workshop i am now, and has encouraged me to keep going

"Metric tuckfonne of zip ties" really cracked me up 😂 I must admit, this video really hit close to home. Over the past few weeks I've been undergoing a similar overhaull of my workshop(albeit it's about 1/6th scale of yours, so slightly less labourious, but still a nightmare when it comes to finding places for things) and watching you do it was almost like therapy. Also, the end really tugged on the heart strings for me. You never disappoint, Brandon. Fantastic video as always.

Range arrearing?

I am happy to see a lot of the rusty tools becoming new again. But I feel like your beard is fuller than it was last time. I know it’s been a over month or so since the last video but it still feels more beardy if that makes sense Though I will be honest. The hanging up of your grandfather’s picture and plaque from Ford motor company gave me goosebumps

Nice to see you back!

Ever leave tools in a bath of Evaporust until the Evaporust evaporates?

Just what I needed - something to look forward to when I get off work in a few hours. Can’t wait to watch the video! Good to have you back, Brandon.
