I say wait. Assuming that you are unable to hold a different form while unconscious, that means that whoever pulled you from the water did so while fully aware that you are a changeling. If that is the case, it may be best to meet this/these individual(s). Perhaps they can be befriended or may be willing to help you on your journey.

you know it just occurred to me that our savior very well could just be our bodyguard and they won't show themselves so waiting would be no use but in the case it's not I do agree with waiting *for those who think its not consider this perhaps they didn't step in because they wanted us to get stronger and would let us fight our own battles and only stepped in when we were in actual danger of being killed ie when we were knocked out cause before the knockout we actually stood a good chance giving the dragon a run for its money to win that fight
