I agree we should try, but ask for consent first. Although this may be bad enough to call for an intervention, we should still try to respect his feelings first. We may also need to get him to open up to his siblings.

Take a moment to figure out how this could benefit him in the future. Just eating some of the negative emotions away is probably only a temporary solution unless that temporary solution can lead to a more permanent solution and to possibly helping him heal if he so filled with negative emotions he won't respond to us then unless we suffer some horrible After Effects which we won't know until we basically do it but if it's worth helping him feel better about himself then I guess it's worth it.
