I don't understand why, based on the conversation in this episode, you think we don't understand that. We said it over and over again.
A E3 / Gamescom demo is always, always, always a project on its own. It is made to demonstrate the public, the publisher and oneself where the game could end up. In many ways that is what developers mean by "non-linear progress", you create parts of the project that are more finished than others. I don't understand how after decades of doing this job this is a surprise to you ..
