Vehicle Painting

Using spray paint, players can freely paint their truck with a variety of colours. Spraying the panel will blend from to colour on the panel to the colour of the spray paint. This allows for some colour mixing, but the main purpose of this approach is for polish sake. The transition between colours looks a lot nicer than an immediate change from one colour to another. It also gives some immediate feedback to the player to let them know that the process is working.
Lubrication and wax also come in spray cans. These can be applied to address minor damage issues and prevent rust from forming.
It's a good idea to keep lubrication and wax at hand. A neglected vehicle will take a lot more work to mend. Just look at all the spare parts here for an idea of what can go wrong.

Yeah, I think I'll add them in batches. Matte / Gloss as an obvious start, pearlescent would be cool too. You can currently buy second hand trucks that have faded paint which appears blotchy and chipped. This has no negative effects, other than looking bad. Repainting these panels fixes this.

Thanks. No, lubricant is specific to condition (damage/wear), wax is specific to rust. So lubricant can be used to repair the condition before a major failure occurs - at which point you'll need to replace the failed part to repair the component. Wax can be used to prevent rust from forming. If rust does form, players will need to use grinders and acid to remove the rust. It's an easy approach to staying on top of car maintenance. Though obviously if you end up in a big accident, you can't just use wax and lubricant to fix you car...
