The Talk

She’s frankly not at all that concerned about it either. In fact, she’s almost kind of into it. And as awkward as it may be, she thinks you should know. For the sake of honesty! Even if it’s… a little weird for her to say.
From a quick gestural pose I did of a young woman I saw in public with a lot of thigh happening. I did maybe embellish a bit though. And ultimately, might’ve gone a little overboard with the post adjustments. I think the scenario’s pretty cute & the art turned out pretty well for my eyes at the moment, but I did shorten her dialogue a little. Maybe down the road, I’ll extend this into a little bit of a vignette.
Attached are full res versions, one with & without her text. Also added a timelapse in case you’re interested (though I do take my gesture drawing from another sheet of sketches I did, the line art, coloring, shading, post, & lettering are all still in there).

I like the idea that she was much slimmer before starting this relationship … agree that she’s slipped past chubby on the spectrum lol

I didn’t imagine much happening immediately prior. Maybe beyond her having a bigger sized meal, catching herself, & being a bit distant because of it. Going further back, she was much slimmer, but has the propensity to put on weight very easily. Chubby’s maybe becoming a bit of an understatement for her. But I did start messing with one as a warmup yesterday. At the moment, it’s mostly just a rehash of what we’ve already been privy to LoL

I would definitely be interested in seeing that vignette if you decide to play around with that. Very curious to see where things started prior to this and where they might go after this conversation…

Thanks! Sometimes I get a bit guilty for never doing backgrounds. Here, I kind of wanted to ground her in a particular moment to offer a bit of gravitas. From there I goofed a bit with the color grading to vary things up a bit. I’m glad you like the result. I might’ve boosted contrast a wee bit more but overall, I’m pretty happy with it.

This is a really cute pic, and I'm loving the shading in particular. It really helps to make her seem more vibrant.
