Such a Berry

Given the shape I wanted to allude to an aspect of berry lore I’ve only seen a couple times in stories & things, rarely ever in art: The idea of juice sort of coagulating into like pulp or like a fruit’s mesocarp. I did it in two different ways here, given the juicy & cleaner versions here both have different dialogue, one a bit more stressed about things & the other more resigned I suppose.
Process timelapse included, starting from scratch but continuing the blue shift & the dialogue all shown.

While I always like the impending threat just in terms of creating stakes, I’ve tried moving away from it & like exploring the day to day aftermath more & more. But I also like to think different people handle the same situations in different ways. So some might not be able to handle it as well, while others are able to take it like a champ. Just depends on who it’s happening to.

I don’t feel like I’m the first to come up with it, but I can’t really cite who else might’ve developed such an idea. And cyclically too, what if that ‘pulp’ is just a new place for more juice to get produced… ultimately also becoming pulp &… oh god. So, so round…

Agreed, I've never been into popping. #permaberry4lyfe

This is actually a really clever twist on the typical blueberry story. Popping from too much juice is a good threat, but allowing that juice to metabolize? That could be something really fun to play with.
